Let's be honest about the OBBB for a second. First, I don't think anyone really believes extending the Trump tax cuts is a bad idea for the country. Not extending the cuts would stick it to millions of middle class Americans and probably send the economy into a downward spiral just when we are seeing a nice recovery.

But at this point, for Democrats, the goal is to deny Trump a win on his agenda, and if they can't do that then try to score political points by lying about what is in the bill. The American people are secondary to their primary goals.

For Trump, just get the bill signed into law so he can claim another big win. It doesn't matter how much the house and senate water it down, just get it signed so he can claim victory.

From what I am reading, quite a bit has been watered down already. Not tax on tips and overtime have limitations now. Not exactly what Trump promised. No tax on Social Security was taken out on the first go around. Now it is just an exemption on some SS payments for seniors making under a certain amount. Many seniors will not see any reduction in taxes on social security benefits.

Honestly, this is why we need a completely new tax system. The games they play over how much money they will let us keep are never-ending and that tax system is a platform for deceit.

I just feel like was are all pawns in this game and that is what we need to address.

I can only imagine the volume of bullshit thats been added to that bill. I used to play poker a lot and tried to do it for a living so I still follow a lot of what goes on in that game. Apparently someone just snuck in a passage that only lets gamblers deduct 90% of their losses. so you could win $1 million on one pull of a slot machine, stick it all back in losing everything so you made nothing but you would have to pay tax on $100,000 you never received. These fucking people don’t even know what they’re writing when they put it in a bill or if they do, they’re insane. This could kill people who make a living in sports, betting, poker horse racing, etc. not to mention how it might affect people go to Vegas lose money when you what a jackpot on a slot it’s over a certain threshold they make you fill out a 1030 once I get reported and IRS, even if you lose it all and now they’re limiting how much you can deduct effectively creating taxable income out of thin air, that doesn’t exist.
