Estate tax is highway robbery & should be abolished in my opinion. I think the current rate is 40% so unless you find a workaround and you own an NFL team worth 10 billion when you die, whomever inherits the team has to come up with approx $4 billion. Is that some bullshit or what?

If Jerry put the team in an irrevocable trust back when it had a lower valuation of say $1 billion he would’ve had to pay some tax at that time. But it would save an enormous amount when he dies as that would be the value placed on the team at the time of death and little to no estate tax would be due on this asset. It’s not public information so we don’t know if we did it but he’s pretty savvy business wise so I’m sure he’s got a plan in place.

if not, this might be Cowboy fan’s only hope that the family gets priced out of ownership. Let’s hope he dropped the ball on this issue like he has being a GM

He retired after the 96 season amigo. Had ruptured disk and missed a bunch of games at end of 1995 yr after having surgery.

I remember him claiming he was going to retire after the NFC Champ loss in 1994 but Jones paid him a bunch to get him to stay for 1995.

He was having a DPOY type of season in 1995 before the busted disc.

Scot, we have been over this ad nauseam.

Jerry Jones is never going to die. It's not happening. The man has no liver, probably no kidney function, no lung function, no brain function...he's more powerful than Satan and all of his henchmen combined.

We will all long be gone and Jerry will still be there 1000 yrs from now pointing at those 3 Lombardi's and asking how we like them now.

I am tempted to lock this thread because every time someone posts here it could be perceived as false advertising by getting peoples hopes up for something that has no chance of ever happening.
