Veteran receiver Antonio Bryant will try out with the Seattle Seahawks during the team’s mini-camp this week, which begins today, Eric Williams of the Tacoma Tribune reports. This according to a source with knowledge of the situation confirmed.

Bryant, 31, has been out of football for two seasons. His last full season was with Tampa Bay in 2009.

After his stint with the Bucs, Bryant signed a free agent deal with Cincinnati, but was released before the start of the 2010 season because of lingering knee issues.

A second-round pick by Dallas in 2002 out of Pittsburgh, Bryant played three mediocre seasons with the Cowboys before being traded to Cleveland.

After two seasons with the Browns, he signed a four year, $14 million deal with San Francisco.

On Oct. 19, 2006, Bryant was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, speeding, reckless driving and resisting arrest.

Is Fred Smoot playing in the NFC West?

Because if he isn't, this move makes no sense to me.

Didn't he catch that sideline out from Q against the giants with like 6 seconds before the snap. After the giants kicked it out of bounds.
Then cundiff sent it to OT and cambell got us in position for the GW and record 7th FG. our first win w/ the big Tuna and Troy hambrick gave him a Gatorade bath

Yes. That was him. Loved the player. Started my Parcells man hate once we traded him for Quincy Morgan.

Yep, there were 13 seconds left and we were down by 3. Then the Giants kicked it out of bounds.

The rest is history.

I wish there was footage of AB launching his jersey at BP's dome.

Wide receiver Antonoio Bryant attended Seattle Seahawks minicamp as a tryout. He is a former second-round pick who has played for four different teams and been released by a fifth -- Cincinnati -- before he ever played a game. He has two seasons with more than 1,000 yards receiving in his career, and he participated in Seattle's minicamp this week on a try-out basis.

Coach Pete Carroll was asked to evaluate Bryant after the conclusion of minicamp and it didn't sound promising.

"He's not in very good shape, but he's very natural," Carroll said according to Danny O'Neil of the Seattle Times. "He's got terrific instincts for catching the football and getting in and out of breaks."

Carroll would like to see if his conditioning improves to the point of adding him to the roster for training camp.

"When we get a chance to see him in really great condition I think he would be a competitive aspect of this thing," Carroll said. "He's not there right now though. He's a ways away and he admits that he has not been working out in the kind of setting that he needs to be at his best, so we'll see what happens."

Pete gets right to the point, doesn't he?
