I'd take just about any of those prospects, but to have one or both of the ones I highlighted would be awesome. One of those two could replace Newman.

I'm glad people are starting to rate Markelle Martin over Ray Ray Armstrong. I'm not sure what to make of Armstrong yet but I know Martin is a player.

I think people are still sleeping on Brandon Boykin (they have him at 49th).

Hell, yeah. He's the corner I want us to draft. Ray Ray isn't on Martin's level.

Oklahoma wanted him as a safety or corner coming out of High School.

Markelle Martin Bio

A young player with a bright future ... Made his mark primarily on special teams as a true freshman after joining the squad in January of 2007 ... Could wind up at corner or safety for the Cowboys ... Figures to be a prominent defender in 2009.

2008 (Freshman): Saw action in 11 of OSU’s games ... Picked up solo tackles against Missouri State, Troy, Colorado and Oklahoma ... Also broke up a pass and blocked a punt against Missouri State ... Broke up a pass vs. Troy as well ... His other pass break-ups came against Baylor and Texas A&M ... Did not play against Oregon or Iowa State.

High School: A heavily recruited and decorated player ... A first-team 4A all-state selection as a senior after leading Rider to a 12-2 record ... Played receiver and safety as a prepster ... A third-team member of the Texas Football Magazine Super Team ... SuperPrep all-region selection as the No. 53 prospect in Texas ... Rivals.com rated Martin as the No. 27 prospect in Texas and the No. 15 safety in America ... Voted as his district’s defensive player of the year ... Was an honorable mention all-stater as a junior ... District defensive player of the year ... Ended his senior season with 81 tackles and five interceptions ... Also participated in basketball and track.

Personal: Another Cowboy who had his choice of college football programs ... Born June 20, 1990, in Wichita Falls ... Son of Bobbie Martin ... Still deciding on a major.

He's been a safety as far as I can remember but you could be right. I was usually paying attention to the Offense (Dez Bryant) when I was watching OSU games during Martin's Freshman year. Last year I watched about 8 of his games and he was always at Safety.

Here's his bio.
The ringleader of the Cowboy secondary ... Talented athlete and maybe the biggest hitter on the roster ... Has two years of starting experience under his belt ... Primarily a special teams player as a freshman ... Joined the program in January of 2007 ... An all-around athlete with a 4.43 time in the 40 and a 37-inch vertical leap ... Voted the defensive player of the game in the 2010 Valero Alamo Bowl ... An all-conference candidate ... Winner of OSU's Nate Fleming Award for his academic performance.

2010 (Junior): Closed the season with a bang in San Antonio ... Had just four tackles, but also returned an interception 62 yards for a touchdown and broke up two more passes on his way to player of the game honors ... Finished the year with 55 tackles and led the team with 10 pass break-ups and tied for second on the team with three interceptions ... Season high in tackles was eight vs. Texas A&M, when he was also credited with a pass break-up, a quarterback hurry and an interception ... Had seven stops vs. Baylor and Nebraska ... Broke up three passes against the Cornhuskers ... Picked off a pass to go with four tackles (one for loss) at Kansas State ... Had pass break-ups against Louisiana and Texas Tech ... Had three stops and a PBU at Texas.

2009 (Sophomore): Saw action in 11 games, all starts ... Finished fifth on the team with 45 tackles, despite missing two games ... Had 39 solo tackles ... Finished second on the team with 11 pass break-ups ... Had his most productive game of the season at the Cotton Bowl with nine tackles and a pass break-up in the defense's impressive outing against Ole Miss ... Had six tackles against Oklahoma and Texas Tech and added five stops against Rice and Texas A&M ... Had four tackles against No. 3 Texas ... Lone tackle for loss came at OU ... Broke up three passes against Rice and had two against Iowa State, Texas Tech and OU.

2008 (Freshman): Saw action in 11 of OSU's games ... Picked up solo tackles against Missouri State, Troy, Colorado and Oklahoma ... Also broke up a pass and blocked a punt against Missouri State ... lol Put it this way c, he so athletic he could play just about any position.

I think the NFL scouts will look at him as a corner though. JMO.

For me, I want to see an athletic playmaker at safety. For too long we have lined up not just one, but two step-slow safeties. Williams and Hamlin, Hamlin and Sensabaugh, etc. Ball had speed but the awareness of a statue. Church is another in the step-slow, Strong Safety only, variety.

Martin would be ideal back there. Players like him allow the D to bring more pressure and the CB's to take more gambles. Instead we have Sensabaugh just looking at players catching the ball, 10 yards away at all times.

I agree, dude, I'm on the same page as you are with our secondary and Martin very well could be a safety in the NFL. Having said that he would play better than Sensabaugh would. Sensy is gone after this year anyways.

I'm good with Martin as a corner or safety, but his natural position is safety and we haven't had a good safety since the Darren Woodson days. I just think some scouts will look at him at corner as well.

Justin Blackmon is an absolute monster. I don't remember ever seeing two players that were so good and so similar and style of play coming out of the same school in a relatively short time. It's uncanny how much he resembles Dez Bryant.
