Opposing defenses and DCs knows Garrett's playcalling.

Ray Lewis called out Garrett's system a few years back remember? Quoted as saying it was the "easiest offense to figure out". I remember Cowboys' fans attacked Lewis over that.

there was a WR bubble screen we called last night where 4 of the Redskin defenders just ran over to the screen area and stood there. Romo had no other options and threw it to the ground after two pump fakes. They scouted it and knew exactly what was coming.

Fuck no to Norv.

Get a brad new scheme in here

What good would it be to get a brand new scheme if the playcalling/selection is still fucked?

2nd and 1... call a pass play waaaaaay downfield.
3rd and 1... see 2nd and 1.

3rd and 10... call a dump off pass p-lay for 5 yards and expect the receiver to ge tthe rest.

I saw Shanahan all last night, when they needed a YARD for the first down... they went for THAT yard. They didn't try to throw low completion rate of 20+ yards downfield, when they only needed JUST FUCKING 1 YARD. They didn't try to run up the gut into the teeth of the offense; they either ran a toss sweep or the read option. Because they were only looking to get that ONE FUCKING YARD and get a new set of downs, and move the chains and sustain a drive.

It would be 3rd and 1 FOOT (half a yard). Every other HC would call a QB sneak and just let the QB fall forward. Niot Garrett. He wants to hand the ball off to the RB that is already 4 yards back behind the LOS, into a bunched Dline and Oline.

No different scheme would fix that fucked up mentality.

The Redskins blitzed on 3rd down and left the edges wide open to daylight. But Garrett didn't call a single screen. Did Garrett even line Miles up in the slot and run a slant? THAT WOULD HAVE KILLED THEM.

I agree. Norv is an all-time OC, and would be much better than Garrett, but Tony has been in this system for six years now. A new scheme would probably be a refreshing change for everyone. Right now the whole thing seems stale.

Why doesn't everyone in the league run this zone blocking shit? The Shanahan's/Kubiaks make it work no matter where they go - boom - top running game. You don't even need good players, just the right coaches and the right players. Why do anything else?

Maybe because it doesnt produce many championships, for whatever reason.

It may again eventually, but other than the two Elway years, he's never won squat and Kubiak hasnt either.
