3rd and 18, because it was already 3rd and 8 and the hold would have been 10 yards.
not a full 10 yards, but rather half the distance to the goal line because they were inside the 20

99.9999% sure that's sarcasm... maybe you should shut the fuck up.Man shut the fuck up. Where do you come wit this bullshit? Gifted how? And why would they gift us 13 games and not all 16 to ensure we have a 1st round bye?
You've topped bbgun's stupidity.

Two different points...
One, is that you claimed Crawford's penalty was less egregious because it wasn't at a critical point in the game. That's BS.
Two, is that a hold is a hold... but in order for it to be a hold, the pass can't have been thrown. Because of the split-second nature of this play, it's reasonable to believe the ref saw the hold, but determined that the pass had already been thrown.
Anyone can go back and go frame by frame and see holds that weren't called in slow motion. It's another thing to see this in full speed live action and to determine that the pass hasn't been thrown at the time the player is held and a flag should be thrown. Such went to the ground on this play, which is another thing the ref looks for... but it happened well after the ball was gone.
Shut up bitch.
Look asshole.
I mean seriously... there's questionable calls every week. But a. How often does the League publically apologize to a team for blowing a call or b. throw a flag, mark off the yardage on the penalty, then go 'nah fuckit no penalty lol' and give no explaination.
Like all the time no?
But naw we dint steal dis game!
GO COWBOYS!

The league says they missed calls all the time...it's not that unusual
Can't say I've ever seen refs call a penalty then take it back....that was a first for me and I watch way too much fucking football

League admits to missing calls maybe what? Three times a year? Out of 256 games, regular season
It's pretty rare
Yes, I understand the timing of the game makes the call seem more egregious. I'm saying it's lame to dismiss one missed call and to harp on another missed call simply because of when they occur in the game. Every blown call is important.holding on Crawford and the Lions have 50+ minutes to atone. penalty on Leary = punt and then five minutes left in the season. yes, we could have forced a 3 and out and then won on a last drive, or we could have met Stafford's fate with a blindside fumble.
A play is a fluid moving thing. The degree of the hold varies depending on when you see it. In the still you posted, the hold has just begun and it's about to get way worse and Suh is going to be taken down. At the exact same time, you see Witten flashing open and Romo is seeing it, and he's starting his throwing motion. Like I said, his release time is less than a second... Actually, it's about .26 seconds. So the ref is looking at Romo and he's looking at the hold right in front of him. In the span of .26 of a second, Romo has released the ball and Suh is taken down right after. It's not unreasonable to think the ref didn't throw the flag because he thought Suh was held after the ball had been released.in all likelihood they did not see the hold. but Romo definitely has the ball in his hand while Suh is being held.
