@RavensInsider: Ozzie newsome said only time team considers restructures is if a player has great value or player has good chance of reaching end of deal

One of the many crucial mistakes this shitty fucking franchise continues to make

Aaron Wilson is an awesome Twitter follow.

Newsome is probably the best GMin the league right now. Dallas would never do anything like their 20/20 club

If Dallas wins the super bowl, will jerry be the best GM in the league?

Because every year whatever team wins, someone posts "this is the best GM in the league"

I think the Ozzie Newsome being the best GM talk started before this past Superbowl David.

It's usually him or Ted Thompson. Not a single non-homer Cowboy fan thinks Jerry is a good GM. Some homer Cowboy fans think Jerry isn't even the GM, unless he does something well.

Cowboys draft Sean Lee in the 2nd. Jerry is a genius!
Cowboys blow entire 2009 draft. Ciskowski and a Valley Ranch janitor are responsible. Wade's fault too!

Giants win, its their guy. Stealers win, its their guy. Saints win its theirs. Colts win its theirs.

Not saying those guys arnt good, but every year someone does proclaim the super bowl winner as the best GM.

Ozzie will consistently be near the top. He does some very innovative things in the front office and has kept the teamin contention despite usually drafting in the latter half of the round. A lot of his legacy hinged on Flacco panning out though

Newsome, Thompson, Reese, Colbert, Belichick are probably cream of the crop. Dimitrioff, Baalke and Grigson look very promising

It is easy to look at the good teams in the league and see what they do right. It is no coincidence that they are usually the ones in contention every year

Did you know that Ozzie is one of Jerry's biggest fans? Just ask Hos.

ozzie newsome is the best gm in the league. It has nothing to do with this superbowl or the other one he put together.

he is simply the best.

Are we talking about the same Ozzie who almost made a disaster head coaching hire?

They should send Ginger a Super Bowl ring if they're going to send one to Cam Cameron.

Guess it's better to be lucky than good sometimes.

With better people running the organization and a good staff I bet Garrett would be just fine.

Put harbaugh here with a terrible coordinator on defense and the jones family picking your players and I almost guarantee he struggles also.

Everybody has to be good to get it together. Baltimore has and has had there shit together for years.

He also drafted Mark Clayton ahead of Roddy White and Aaron Rodgers.

Even the greats swing and miss sometimes.

Only in this case Jerry bailed him out. :paper

Dodging the ginger bullet, and the huge gamble of desperately drafting a DII QB ended up panning out. Those don't seem like calculated or brilliant decisions, particularly when (as TE just stated) you're passing up on QBs like Rodgers.

Signing Jacoby Jones wasn't too brilliant either. The guy was a shitty WR2 for years, and there was no evidence that he'd ever turn the corner. His two big receiving TDs (vs. Denver and vs. SF) came off inexcusable defensive lapses.

It really does take a lot of luck.

The two quality HCs that JJ hired did quite well here. Garrett was given a very long leash, and his poor coaching and decision making did him in. JJ is not quite the anti-Christ.

Eh. Garrett needs seasoning. Harbaugh started coaching when he was still playing

I'm not sure why Aaron Rodgers is even discussed. Nobody would have passed on him had they known he was going to be as good as he is. There was obviously something teams didn't like about him and he obviously pissed in their faces. The whole league almost and that includes Dallas who netted Marcus Spears a few picks before while having Drew Bledsoe as their fucking QB.

As for Jones, I'm not sure Jacoby Jones was supposed to be anything more than a KR guy and #3 at best. Being a shitty #2 doesn't have anything to do with it if they don't view him as a #2.

What's the point of all this anyway? If you're arguing that a team doesn't get all the moves right, you're wasting your breath.

JJ is the final say on everything, including who coaches the Cowboys. The fact that you have to say "the two quality HCs" is a joke all by itself because he's hired a shit ton since he bought the team. He's a bigger burden on the team than he is a benefit. The only thing he should actually be applauded for is that he'll open up his checkbook to try and bring people in but even that has it's flaws. As result of all the smoke and mirrors he and Stephen have thrown up by fucking with the cap so much, Dallas is in a position where they have to restructure every year like a bunch of idiots and the best we can hope for from a guy who just had a good season (Spencer) is that someone will trade for him. That's the best possible thing that could happen. There's no way they can justify another year with this OL and re-signing Spencer is one less good player that they can devote to the line.

That's even if they could do it in the first place because they're millions over the projected cap and the only prayer they would have in making enough room is to push so much more down the line that it will eventually fuck the team over.

Okay, I know Jimmy Johnson. Got that one.

Please clue me in on who the other HC was that did quite well here. I'm literally drawing a blank. Surely you don't mean Switzer, right?
