The fact that we're scraping around the bargain barrel for safeties like Huff and especially Allen kind of says it all. Glover Quin is exactly the kind of safety we need, a guy who is an up-and-coming young player instead of some retread, and he didn't exactly get a fortune from Detroit. But we didn't even have a chance at him.

Or maybe the coaches looked at him and said he wasnt worth the money/didnt fit the scheme etc etc

Signed in baltimore.

that means, canty, spears and huff have signed there. I see the writers are all congratulating them on this..

if we kept spears, resigned canty and then gave huff money would we be applauded?

Huff signed with Ravens 3years 6million

Thought he really wanted to play for the cowboys. Oh right. We don't have any money to actually buy his services.

SO fuck you to the morons that keep saying we don't have cap issues

Again with huff we don't know if they view him as worth that kind of money especially if they plan to draft one.

It might be the position they do not want to spend money on. It's not like huff is more than average.

That's not the point. The point is that we couldn't even make him an offer regardless of what we thought of him

I'm confused? You want them to sign a player they don't think highly of out of spite or to prove some Internet argument about cap space?

If they give him the same contract as Baltimore then draft vaccaro and he and church start that is terrible for the team.

Mid u guys are actually missing the point.

If they wanted huff bad enough or at all, they could have created the cap room. Clearly they don't think that highly of him so they will not make maneuvers for him.

Or you're missing the point. We could've matched that Baltimore offer, or even offered less (on account of no state tax) had we had a gripe on our cap.

As is.... we're restructuring every god damned contract on our roster reaching for scraps to sign JAGS like Durant.

Is this a case of meh, Cowboys don't like him enough.... or shit, we're handicapped now and have to pick and have to bargain shop.

Reminds me of when I was a kid and my parents tried to convince me to want an Atari 7200 over the Nintendo. Nintendo was much better, but hey, if I got the Atari look at how many more games I could get.

Nope. They wanted him to "verbally commmit" to them like Durant did. Huff wanted to play here but was not going to agree to a handshake deal when there were other teams ready to sign him to a contract now. Huff wanted to be a Cowboy and gave them the first shot.

It would like one company saying we really want to hire you but can't do it for another few weeks. Then, another company offers you the same money and ready to sign you to an offer sheet right now. You can wait around for that first company but if it nevers comes through you're the jackass who let another job slip away. I can't blame Huff at all. We just aren't a very well ran organization.
