I was going over his highlight tapes of his Freshman and Sophomore years and I was pretty surprised that as a Freshman, how well he was able to read and react. For instance, against Colorado, the Buffs tried running a reverse with the WR, the initial run going to the right, and he read the LT and LG heading towards the left to set up the blocks for the reverse option. Everyone on Eastern Washington's D was fooled on the play except for him and he was able to stop it for a 3 yard loss.

We need him to be healthy next year because he easily could be the smartest player in the defensive backfield, and will validate the Sean Lee/Bruce Carter comparisons made by people within the organization. No, not guessing.

His career tape is pretty impressive. He's physical and makes alot of plays.

It sux that this has been a wasted year, but I still have hopes he'll pan out as a player.

One things for sure, it should be obvious to everybody after watching McRay and Sensabaugh why they waited so long before finally IR'ing him.

Matt Johnson is one player I will be looking forward to next year. Jusst some bad shit that he was not able to stay healthy. We still need to draft a safety. No way can we go another year with Senseless and McCrap back there. I thought that I'd never ever wanted to see Sensless and Ball on the field at the same time last year... but McCrap is worse than Ball.
