Players we could have drafted instead of Escobar:

Margus Hunt DE
Larry Warford G
Brian Winters G
Terron Armstead T
Dallas Thomas G
Damontre Moore DE
Brennan Williams T

It seems clear to me through his actions and even his comments, Jerry just does not view the Offensive Line as a major issue. Seeing how he played Guard at Arkansas you'd think he'd have respect for the position. Maybe since he knows that a no-talent jackass like himself can play the position, anyone should be able to.

It sucks because it's the same crap that brings us down and we are wasting the careers of some pretty talented players. I hope that the next coach has enough talent to recognize the problem and enough clout to tell Jerry to f off on draft day.

My optimism about the coming season was growing like a blister. Thanks, Leary, for lancing it.

It is a sad commentary that our "hope" is that the Cowboys will sign a 35+ year old guard who has been out of football for 1 1/2 years and that he will be in shape, on his game, and ready to start in a few weeks.

I'm confused by your metaphor. Doesn't a blister feel better after it's been lanced?

Post of the year. I have no doubt that next year, Jerry will draft a DE in the 1st. That's not the problem. Jerry is good at addressing the most pressing need in the 1st round. But beyond the first... shit gets fucked up.

Mark my words... the 2nd round next year... we'll draft... A LINEBACKER. HELL YEAH. We don't need anymore LBs, but that is exactly why we will draft it. It's the trend for the 2nd round... either TEs or LBs. Screw the OL and DL. And then we will get reports "leaked out", as to how Jerry had his sights set on this particular OL or DL, but x-team lept ahead of us and drafted them.

And what's worse is that supposedly the reason we drafted Escobar, was to keep the 49ers from getting him! LOL.

Hadn't heard that one.

The old Jerry PR machine draft standby: We have info that the Patriots/Niners/other top team were just about to take him!

Not making it up. I don't know if it is true, but I did read about it recall on one of the blogs/tweets during the draft. Doesn't matter the reasoning it all adds up to the same thing: STUPIDITY.

Yep, they did that with Frederick. "Our spies told us that Detroit was gonna take him!"

I really don't hear other teams or GM's use this. They say we drafted our guy and don't care who else might have wanted him. It's like Jerry knows he is suspect and needs to say things like that so that the average fan thinks he's doing amazing things. "Oh my god, the Browns wanted him and we got him instead!!!!"

I would imagine almost every player on your board is wanted at some point by some team.

Oh, I wasn't suggesting you were making it up. Just that I'd missed it.

Are the OL required to wear braces in camp?

Parcells did that, didn't he?

We've been damn lucky overall this preseason. We've lost, what one backup defensive lineman. Teams around the league are losing multiple starters at important positions like left tackle.

Two of the starting DL haven't even practiced yet, not sure where you get the idea we only "lost one backup DL"

The OL has been its usually disarray due to injuries. The 2nd yr guy many thought would push for a starting job got barely a sniff on the field in a game before getting hurt again. One starting CB has missed a week and one game (soon to be two) already. Rookie WR hasn't played in either preseason game.

blah blah blah...you can do this for every team in the league...it gets old

I'm sure quite a few teams wish they hadn't passed on guys like DeMarcus Ware, Jason Witten, Tony Romo, Sean lee and Bruce Carter etc etc too

Fool me once, shame on you....

How many years has this team had OL problems? IMO, too many to blame on bad luck.

Jerry likes to use the Ravens for justification on his picks. It makes him feel that he is on the level of Ozzie. You know, a real GM. I remember him saying that the Ravens had a high draft grade on Matt Johnson. I would be willing to bet that Ozzie tells Jerry this kinda shit and laughs his ass off when he hangs up the phone.

. Dallas is the only team in the league that injuries has zero effect on their quality of play. Their starters are scrubs and there is not any drop off in talent level to the scrubs that are waiting to replace them. Bernadeau or Arkin? Does it really matter? By the way, Jerry said that Leary would be ready for the first regular season game and Jerry is a doctor.

I think the spies missed the end of the discussion where they concluded 3rd round, just where they actually took an OL.
