As an aside,I'm not sure if the story about letting Fox in the TV rights bidding has much merit.
Fox's first deal did make an impact,about 200 million a year,nothing to be sneezed at certainly,but just over 6 million per team.
The real impact letting Fox in had didn't happen until the 1998 deal when the networks starting paying 2.2 Billion a year combined,double the previous deal.
