Hamstring injury slows Morris Claiborne

EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- Cowboys cornerback Morris Claiborne walked out of the visitors locker room with a slight limp. Claiborne re-aggravated his left hamstring in the 24-21 victory against the New York Giants on Sunday and missed a good portion of the second half.

Claiborne said he wasn't sure if he'll need a MRI exam, but with the Cowboys playing this Thursday against the Oakland Raiders on Thanksgiving, his availability for that game appears in doubt.

"As soon as I came down I felt it," Claiborne said. "I didn’t think really nothing of it. It didn’t feel that bad. That’s why I went back to the line of scrimmage and I was like, ‘I’m ready to play,’ then all of a sudden it was, ‘Oh, maybe not.’ It just tightened up and that was the end of it."

Wide receiver Dwayne Harris missed the second half with a hamstring injury and was replaced on kick returns by Terrance Williams and punt returns by Cole Beasley.

Defensive tackle Jason Hatcher returned after missing the previous game against the New Orleans Saints with a stinger. Hatcher recorded two sacks. Defensive end DeMarcus Ware played his second consecutive game, this time at 85 percent due to a quad injury.

Cornerback Orlando Scandrick, who shut down Giants receiver Victor Cruz on Sunday, left the game briefly with a right arm injury as did wide receiver Dez Bryant.

Safety J.J. Wilcox, returning from a sprained knee that cost him the previous three games, left briefly due to a head injury. Wilcox underwent the concussion test on the sidelines and in the locker room.

We're such dipshits for trading up for this guy.

all part of Jerry's "good job".

Or maybe Jason Garrett did it, since he's in charge?

Can we blame Tom Ciskowski somehow?

Did Larry Lacewll recommend this pick?

It is a committee. They all work together. Ultimately, Jason Garrett has the call

I wonder how far Claiborne would have dropped if Dallas didn't trade up to get him. There have been a few hyped players (last year a few RBs and DE/LBs the year before) who were not as valued by the NFL teams as mush as the NFL fans. He did have the ball skills and the physical traits, but so did Quincy Carter.

I'm not ready to give up on Claiborne yet, but it was certainly overkill to draft a corner that high AND pay that much for a free agent.

I really don't think he would've fallen past Tampa at #6.

Which reminds me, how has Mark Barron been doing? I don't watch Tampa games. I barely watch Dallas games anymore.
