It shocks me that anyone would like to keep Jim Zorn's orange younger brother rather than bringing in a young, fiery coach with a Super Bowl ring and excellent pedigree.

You're contradicting your own statement here. The "real issue" is the coaching, which is why this is gaining steam and fans are getting excited about an excellent solution.

The real issue is the GM my friend

If we hire Gruden, you better hope he jets after 3 years like Parcells or you can forget about finding another franchise-type QB after Romo.

It's funny....Not long ago, I wanted nothing to do with Gruden.

...and then Payton re-upped in NOLA. What a fag.

Anyway, I've now convinced myself that Grudawg is the answer and am praying that something is in the works.

Fucking Garrett screwing with my intellectual honesty.

So has any legit media member commented on this yet? I hope it's not just some bleacher report rumor.

Peter King and Dan Patrick. King originally broke this story several weeks ago. Patrick said he had heard similar things, then said nobody in the nationa media was more connected to the Cowboys than King, and if is hearing it there is defintiely something to it.

Then there's the report that Jerry flew to Tampa several weeks ago, spent the night at some ritzy hotel and supposedly met with Gruden there.

Tragic murder/traumatizing suicide -->team rallies briefly--> too little too late, pack your bags, Romeo

Retard gets wasted and completely sober teammate allows him to drive -->team barely wins due to opponent sucking ass and then misses playoffs anyway after being exposed again-->you're a great leader, get comfy here's the corner office, Jason Garrzorn.

Who all the fuck wants Garrett to stay?

Sadly, I think he is staying. Jerry has some fucked up hiring and firing rationale.

1. Gailey leads the Cowboys to two consecutive playoffs appearences --- he gets fired.

2. Campo leads this team to two consecutive 5-11 seasons --- he stays for one more season, evidently two 5-11 seasons are not a enough, got to have one more for good measure.

3.) Wade leads this team to three consecutive winning seasons two fo them are division titles, and one with a playoff win. He leads the Cowboys to his first and only losing HALF SEASON --- he's fired.

4.) Garrett leads this team to two consecutive .500 seasons --- he's staying See Campo.

Because he was a goober fuckstick, thats why he got fired. He didnt lead the team to anything, other than back to back embarrassing playoff losses.

Campo was awful, but he wasnt to blame for 3 seasons of bad rosters.

Guess you forgot the disasters that were the 2008 and 2010 (1-7, and hardly even competitive) seasons.

I still think Garrett is getting canned this week, but the guy I wanjt him replaced with started with back to back 8-8 seasons too (Gruden w/ Oakland) and Kubiak was in Houston forever with nothing more than middling results, before making the playoffs last year and this year. Mike Mayock was praising their owner today for sticking with Kubiak as long as he did, when most organizations would have fired him.

I agree with everything you say. My apologies for not making it known, that I was very much ok with Gailey getting fired. VERY MUCH SO. But that wa snot the point of my post.

Gailey deserved to get fired after those two seasons, but why did Campo deserve a thrid season? Doesn't make sense.

True. But this is a performance job. He didn't deserve another season. Parcells had the same roster when he came in.

See Gailey. I didn't forget. Wade needed to go. But so did Garrett. He was as much to blame. He was the co-HC.

I still think Garrett is getting canned this week...

I hope you are right, but I doubt it. I'm not getting my hopes up again, like I did with Sean Payton.

Sorry dbair... but did either Kubiak or Gruden have the skill players like Garrett? Garrett has been here for 6 years. His offense is one of th easiest to defend, and to make it worse, he's predictable in his playcalling.

And this is what I am afraid of. Jerry is going to copy the Texans. Thing is... does Kubiak clal his own plays? I thought he had an OC.

Yeah, he calls his own plays. He's got the Denny's-menu playsheet working.

Thing about Kubiak is he was always good on his side of the ball, the D was just absolutely awful. They got that fixed and they were good.

Not the same as what we have here at all.

Romo, Witten, and Ware do not have many years left. Do we waste their remaining years waiting for Garrett to get it right, when the GENIUS should have already had it figured out?

We don't... But Jerry does.

No, wait, I take that back. Almost forgot -- I'm suspending disbelief and am joining dbair's "Gruden will be hired" positivity train.

So yes, he realizes his mistake and brings in a new voice. Gruden by next weekend.:YES
