I think it's more complex than what I said... I think he wouldn't really tell us if it was do or die for Garrett this year.

But I also don't think he knows if it's do or die this year. He's not a planner per se, as far as that goes. He's susceptible to the whims of game to game and year to year. There are all sorts of possibilities of what could happen this season, and I could just as easily see Garrett fired mid-season as I could see him being here next year regardless of whether we get a win in the playoffs.

I don't think he despises head coaches, but he clearly doesn't think that you have to have a great head coach in the NFL to be successful.

In a way, it is impossible to know. If the Cowboys go 6-10, but do it with both Romo and Orton on IR, Garrett could get another year. If the Cowboys go 9-7 and get into the playoffs, but with several of the losses due to botched time management and other coaching errors, maybe Garrett is gone.

It is far from stupid. This is not the Dallas Cowboys that I grew up supporting. This is not the Dallas Cowboys that I have been a fan of for over 40years. The Dallas Cowboys are Jerry Jones. He has his damn fingerprints all over the three ring circus of a team. You are blind if you think that you can pick one without the other. I was/am a fan of what the Cowboys were. They were the class of the sports world. They were winners. The Jones family has ruined the franchise that I was a fan of all because of one big ego that refuses to step aside for the betterment of the team. This is the Dallas Cowboys in name only. All of us are fooling ourselves if you think that this team will rise from this mess. It is training camp and hopes are supposed to be high, but go back and look and you will see the same bullshit year after year being written. Then the reality of a piss-poor managed team smacks us in the face. Does it really make sense to think that this year will have any other result than the previous years? I will always hope that this team changes, but I would be a damn idiot to get my hopes up snd buy the crock of shit that Jerry is selling. There fomes a time when common sense overrides emotion. I am at that point. The Cowboys are the new Raiders and Jerry is the new Al Davis. That is just the way it is.

That is about as far as I am willing to go myself. I don't buy anything that will put money in Jerry Jones's pocket. I get some good laughs from you guys. That is the only reason that I go to Cowboy websites anymore. To be honest, the homer attitudes that the CZers have has made me quit checking any board other than this one. Iamtdg - I'm with you on this. I haven't bought any Cowboys merchandise in 5 years. It has been a long time since I've attended a game in person. I am going to the Hall of Fame game, but I had already booked the trip to Canton before the Dolphins-Cowboys match up was announced ... so my attendance at this Cowboys preseason game will be almost accidental.

Why should I find another team? I was a Cowboy fan many years before Jerry came along. That is the standard CZish homer response. My question to you is, why don't you agree with me? Asba fan of the Cowboys, why aren't you pissed at the man that ruined a once-gteat franchise and made it the laughing stock of the NFL? That attitude is what kills me about the homers. If you love this team so much, why do you support and defend what it has become?
