I think it's more complex than what I said... I think he wouldn't really tell us if it was do or die for Garrett this year.
But I also don't think he knows if it's do or die this year. He's not a planner per se, as far as that goes. He's susceptible to the whims of game to game and year to year. There are all sorts of possibilities of what could happen this season, and I could just as easily see Garrett fired mid-season as I could see him being here next year regardless of whether we get a win in the playoffs.
I don't think he despises head coaches, but he clearly doesn't think that you have to have a great head coach in the NFL to be successful.
