Read it on another forum, says Cowboys might trade 16, 78 and 119 for Browns picks 26 and 35

Don't know if he is just speculating or if he has heard some stuff

Same post said trade value chart shows this as a dead even trade, but have no idea which chart they are referring to

Seems stupid to put together a trade like that pre-draft since so many things can happen picks 1 through 15. Cleveland would be tipping their hand so any team wanting a QB would leap frog them to get one.

I don't think he meant we'd do it before the draft started CMD

Yeah, I just don't think teams put together specifics like this on middle of the round picks the day before the draft.

If Cleveland was to say we may want to jump up there and get our QB and Dallas said we might be interested in moving down, I'd buy it. Working out the trade chart numbers seems like a waste of time. Dallas should be less willing to move down if their "guy" is there, Cleveland might be less anxious and less willing to give up as much if the QB run doesn't happen.

Link?

If Glazer was mentioning something like this, Twitter would be blowing up. It's not.

Sounds like something a sourced up mouth breather is making up and throwing Glazer's name into it in a lame attempt to get credibility.

Dallas has their own value chart and it's values are pretty different. Going off the old chart doesn't mean shit.

I think Dallas only places 2000 points on the first pick but not sure. Broaddus spilled the beans on the value of a few picks a couple years back.

I kept asking for more values and was able to use a couple of other questions he answered to work out the values of a few other picks.

I have the values somewhere. Maybe 8-10 or so but kinda spaced out. See if I can find them.

Dallas' Chart Values (Standard)

#1 = 2400 (3000)
#5 = 1450 (2600)
#7 = 1200 (1500)
#14 = 930* (1100)
#16 = 870 (1000)
#34 = 490* (560)
#45 = 337 (450)
#47 = 315 (430)
#80 = 122 (190)
#81 = 119* (185)

*I used proposed trades and known values to work out these values.

Edit: Looks like he's been dishing more values. Someone asked the cost to get to #1 this year and he said 1530, so we now know the value of #16.

#16 = 870

If he keeps doing this shit for enough years, you could probably use some sort of dorky excel function to plot a possible model of Dallas' value chart. May have enough values as it is to figure out the first round.

Edit #2: He's given out some more. Last year's 2nd and 3rd round picks for Dallas. I'll keep expanding the list as long as I can edit the post.

Here's another, sort of.

Someone asked the cost to get to #12 or #13 and he said 120 points.

That puts #12 or #13 at 990. Given that #14 = 930, I think moving to #12 = 120.

I actually tried a while back to sort of guestimate values based on the values I had and the spreads between picks. I have 990 locked into #12.

Using the new information and having him pretty much confirm my guess, here's my stab at the first 16 picks of round 1. Bolded values are values he's given or are values I have come up by using known values and possible trade scenarious.

#01 = 2400
#02 = 2000
#03 = 1750
#04 = 1580
#05 = 1450
#06 = 1320
#07 = 1200
#08 = 1150
#09 = 1100
#10 = 1060
#11 = 1020
#12 = 990
#13 = 960
#14 = 930
#15 = 900
#16 = 870

Were basically always rumored to be trading with Cleveland

No reputable source has rumored that. But those with super secret sources have been chattering about it for a long time.

Because Cleveland has extra picks. It fits with trade value charts. It is an easy connection

I do wonder if the Beckham rumors are to try to entice the Jets to leap frog Baltimore though. They've got two fourths. Could be a nice move down for an extra pick

Must be the old chart that people have been going by for the last decade. I don't think they've updated it.

btw, didn't Jerry say after last year's trade down that he doesn't follow it, or was it Stephen?

Yeah they said they had a new chart now. I think several other teams have updated or newer versions they use.

I honestly don't think there's a true "chart" anymore. Its obvious after last yr that teams are making deal downs that don't match up with any chart we see. Its "the pick is worth what somebody is willing to pay", not "this pick is worth this"
