No matter what all of u guys say or how many scenarios u come up with, reality is u can not rob Peter to pay Paul.

We had to many holes to fix in one offseason. They decided to go the route of fixing a horrific secondary and an old slow lb core.

If we released Spencer and didn't trade up for Claiborne we would be rolling into ny with butler starting on the strong side and Mario butler starting at corner..

no I have to disagree with you on that one - we be starting Jenkins - Carr - Scandrick

plus there were plenty of good CB's in the last draft

we could have a at least gotten a Center or an OG in the 2 nd round

I am still pissed about that trade up

I watched the kid for two years I was never impressed

I think their are some other CB's taken later that make the pro bowl before Claoborne does

I don't know which way was correct or incorrect but this constant we should have signed all these guys stuff is crazy.

If we signed nicks that would gave been a blow to the offseason....that might have been it.

If we released Spencer and didn't trade up for Claiborne we would be rolling into ny with butler starting on the strong side and Mario butler starting at corner.

Then everyone would complain about the secondary being bad.

Just simply too much to do in one offseason.

I am glad we are younger on defense. Our linebackers looked awesome. Can't wait to see rat- hatcher- Jenkins-Spencer and mo out there. Could be a good defense.

It sounds a little like you are defending an organization that made a big mess by saying that it isn't fair to expect them to be able to clean up such a big mess.

Big picture. The NFL is an offense driven league. Elite offenses typically win. If you are gotta let something slide on your team, it isn't a great idea to let the offense slide.

I've noticed that people who use the "you can't have an all star at every position" argument to defend mediocre attempts to man the interior OL with mediocre players are often the same people who are strong proponents of the Cowboys having picked up the two all star CBs.

Newman had to be replaced. That's a given. But with a little more moderation in choosing the DB replacements, the interior OL could have been addressed with somewhat higher quality parts.

Why the need to make significant upgrades to the offensve line.

We only have to see the likes of
tuck, osi, pierepaul
cole, jenkins, babin
kerrigan, orakpo

6 games this season

So we go 10-6
