I understand that Gingerbread is too retarded to know how to address this, but it's sad that Jerry can't vividly recall the days of

Tunei--Allen--Stepnoski--Newton--Big E

He should be psychotically trying to replicate the oline that brought him 3 rings if he really thinks there's an open window here.

See, that's the problem. Jerry doesn't think that the O Line helped bring him 3 rings. He doesn't think that the incredible depth on D that Jimmy provided helped bring him 3 rings. He thinks it was the Triplets and of course, him.

At this time next year, the o-line will still be a mess and Romo, Witten and Ware will be a year older.

Even I'm more optimistic than that. I have to hope that Bernadeau and maybe Arkin step up. Free should be okay, Tyron will be a Pro Bowler. I think Livings is awful but he'll most likely get another year. We will just need to finally address the Center spot next off-season.

Looks like how our off-season started, with the exception of Free.

It's amazing to me that you have a glaring weak spot, you do almost nothing to address it, save sign a guy who's team didn't want him and another guy who couldn't earn a starting job on a supsect line, and then somehow, someway, it doesn't get better. We have the worst luck since ignoring your problems always fixes them.

Wasnt pass defense a glaring weakness too?

I'd say yes. I'd also factor in pass rush and safety play, as well as Dave Campo as bigger factors than CB. We didn't address pass rush or safety play at all. Jerome Henderson and upgrades at CB will help but won't solve it alone, especially if Ware is the only player putting pressure on the QB.

I'm still worried about the pass rush, but I do think guys like Wilbur and Hamilton, along with Butler have pass rush potential.

It was only a haklf of a game, but Church looks like a real player back there. And Sensabaugh's pick was text book.

For once, I agree with everything you just said although I'm pretty content with letting Butler leave after this year.

Hamilton and Wilber's athleticism and speed will be a nice change to Spencer's steady but mostly unspectacular play. Church has earned it this year. Sensabaugh's pick was exactly how a Free Safety should play, something he hasn't done in the past IMO, but Palmer locked in and threw that pass anyway. If Sensabaugh didn't get it, Scandrick probably would have.

The plays I noticed, Scandrick seemed to have glue like coverage. That Sensabaugh pick was one of them.

The subtraction of Campo and addition of Henderson is a huge positive that isnt getting enough attention IMO.

The only reason I agree w the offseason moves is bc IMO we had way too many holes to fill in one offseason. So knowing you can't fill them all at once, I decide that The secondary concerns were more pressing than the OL concerns. My reasoning has always been that its easier to hide a shitty OL than a shitty secondary.

I honestly feel like we are fine in the secondary. This season is going to come down to how well we can hide the OL.

At some point in time when Jerry finally addresses the line with the type of resources he commits to WR or DBs, he'll look back and be ashamed of all the years of Romo's career he wasted by having this cast of clowns blocking for him.

My only real concern was that it was a great year for CBs and guards (in both the draft and free agency) and those both happened to be needs so they should have been put to bed. I'm not sure guard was yet.

For all the complaints about C, there wasn't a lot out there. However, I wish they would have tried to take some changes on later round guys or a vet (like Koppen).

Same for OLB and S....not a great year for either. I'd really like to be able to get an OLB in 1 or 2 next year as the draft should be strong.

As much as I hated Baylor I would have drafted Philip Blake

or Michael Brewster as udfa

and don't get me started on OG's

well I see Romo getting sacked alot

Jerry got release thats where it all begins

you have to have a O line

I mean we could had a C and OG in the draft

excepts he plays its cute an goes after Claiborne

when they are just as good CB's in the later rounds

The real missed opportunity was in free agency.

They could have gotten a C and a G had they not gave Spencer a tug off.

No matter what all of u guys say or how many scenarios u come up with, reality is u can not rob Peter to pay Paul.

We had to many holes to fix in one offseason. They decided to go the route of fixing a horrific secondary and an old slow lb core.

I don't know which way was correct or incorrect but this constant we should have signed all these guys stuff is crazy.

If we signed nicks that would gave been a blow to the offseason....that might have been it.

If we released Spencer and didn't trade up for Claiborne we would be rolling into ny with butler starting on the strong side and Mario butler starting at corner.

Then everyone would complain about the secondary being bad.

Just simply too much to do in one offseason.

I am glad we are younger on defense. Our linebackers looked awesome. Can't wait to see rat- hatcher- Jenkins-Spencer and mo out there. Could be a good defense.

But these problems have been accruing for years now and finally got to the boiling point. Had they been addressed properly along the past few seasons we wouldn't be worrying about it. Making bad OL picks in late rounds doesn't count as addressing it.

Agreed. They sit around and wait for things to implode before even considering to address them.

This is an extremely dysfunctional organization. Jerry is great when he's willing to spend money and let guys like Parcells run shit. Other teams are improving or staying good while we patch one hole and spring a leak elsewhere. That's how you finish 8-8.

They rolled the dice in 2010 hoping the older lie could give them one more goodyear. The idea was get by one more year while the defense played great. Then the defense was awful. It made the gamble go belly up.

Now we are on the long road to fixing it.

It's interesting to note that both Todd archer and Mickey spagnola said losing the 10 million dollars in cap space cost the team Ben Grubbs. Archer stated we liked him but once it got to 7 million a year we could no longer sign him because of the cap hit.

It would be interesting I guess if the interior was livings Mack and Grubbs.
