Cowboys bring in Raymond Radway for a workout
By Brandon George / Reporter
1:37 pm on October 5, 2012

The Cowboys worked out wide receiver Raymond Radway on Friday but haven’t decided whether they will sign him or not.

The Cowboys have one open roster spot after cutting cornerback and special teams contributor LeQuan Lewis earlier this week.

Radway, a McKinney North product, was cut by the Cowboys in late August. Last year, Radway spent all season on injured reserve with the Cowboys after he broke his left leg with three seconds left in the final 2011 preseason game at Miami.

Radway, an undrafted free agent out of Abilene Christian, had a strong training camp with the Cowboys in 2011 and was in position to make the final 53-man roster before he injured his leg going up for a catch in the end zone. However, his injury slowed his progress and he couldn’t re-establish himself this year in training camp and was beat out by wide receivers Andre Holmes and Cole Beasley for a final roster spot.

The Cowboys elected not to bring him back on their seven-man practice squad as well.

The Cowboys worked out ex-SMU cornerback Bryan McCann on Thursday but didn’t sign him.

Why would we sign Radway?

And I didn't know we brougth McCann in for a work out. Those back to back games with great returns (pick 6, and heas up punt return) were great. Hope he's doing well.

RKG.

they weren't good enough at the time, but they are familiar.

and who knows, maybe we're a McCann or Radway away from being a great team.

I don't see why Dallas would look at Radway.

He couldn't beat the other guys out a month ago, he's gonna all of a sudden provide something now that he couldn't provide then?

Unless they cut him to "send a message" to him and all the other borderline players that if you aren't prepared for camp they'll move on without you.......of course if you aren't a borderline player you're spot is secure, prepared or not.

Even if we did sign him... what would he do? Its not like any of our young receivers are getting snaps anyway.

Is he a special teams guy?

That's the other thing.

Harris and Beasley have been bench warmers.

I dunno why, the each showed they could play this preseason. I wish they'd get more snaps. Take some from Ogletree and Dez.

The Dallas Front Office. Knows what it's doing.

roster is down to 52, no one on PS worth promoting, let's consider bringing in a guy we cut in the first roster cuts who also would happen to be our 7th WR. Also, should mention that we already have a 7th WR, a guy we drafted in the 5th round, on the PS.

Glad to know we have a plan.

We love familiarity. The only guy not from last year's roster that we bring in, LaQuan Lewis, gets cut a week later.
