Also, the call on PI call on Claiborne. The ref threw the flag before the incident where Torey Smith shoved Claiborne to the ground. I didn't see it but I'm guessing Claiborne had already made some sort of illegal contact. Maybe someone wit All 22 access can see it but when Claiborne went flying to the ground the flag was already on the grass.

There is one flag on the grass right after the snap because Hatcher didn't get his fat ass off the field in time. The ref has his hand on the flag waiting for the snap because he knows that Hatcher isn't going to make it.

And here's the flag falling.

The flag that came from the other side came out too early to be PI. I'm not sure what they are calling. It look like a clean play all around, even on the WRs end.

A lot of people are saying Claiborne was pushed to the ground but I just don't see that. Looks like typical contact and Claiborne lands awkward and hyper-extends his knee which is why he sort of bounced up off the ground the way he did. Smith had like a chick wing up against Claiborne's back, I'm not even sure how the hell anyone could push someone with enough force using only a single elbow.

IMO, it looks like Claiborne is trying to ride him towards the sideline while looking back at the ball. I've seen him do this in another game and he actually forced the WR out of bounds. It's actually kind of sly because it looks like he's playing the ball but he's knocking the receiver off their route and forcing the WR to widen his route. I kind of like it to be honest. He's knocking the WR off their route and doing it in such a manner that it shouldn't be called.

I don't think there should have been PI called on either player.

My problem with it is why would u ask witten and Austin to run deeper routes like that? No way they can get to the line of scrimmage.

Plus no one wants romo throwing deep into double coverage there.

The illegal shifts were illegal shifts. The two holding calls on Tyron Smith were holding. He grabbed the guy's chest plate (of the shoulder pads) once he got by him and restricted him.

I think they called one of the holding calls on Free, who had a tweak of jersey. Smith got flagged once for holding once after the runner was already several yards past where he was, and again it was pretty picky. My problem with these type of holding calls is that they seem to eagle eye all these really borderline things we do, but the best pass rusher in the NFL almost NEVER has a holding call drawn on him regardless of who is trying to block him, which is absolute garbage.

In regards to the illegal shifts, I think they did call 3. On one of them (I think it was the first one) there were two guys shifting at one point, but one of them appeared to be set for at least a second at the snap of the ball, whcih is supposed to be legal. The guy who threw the flag couldnt have possibly seen the WR set on the far side of the field either.

He didnt do antyhing, it was perfect coverage all the way. If they called PI, it had to be while the ball was in the air too, and they showed the replay of it several times. The only contact came when thir WR blatantly pushed off with his forearm into Claiborne's back. The same guy made that call made the call that Felix Jones was out of bounds on that early TD too, when it was clear he was never out of bounds.

I did feel like the refs "got involved" every time we had momentum going. I don't think the refs are out to get us. We are a dumb team that does dumb things. The refs may be guilty of anticipating and assuming penalties will be on us but I don't think there is a conspiracy. If anything, the League office and the schedule maker does more to fuck us every year

I know this crew always fucks us over. Everytime Carey and his crew do a Dallas game, we get raped bad by the refs, and this past game was probably the worst ever for them as an example of it.

Yeah, I watched the play again and that's exactly what happened. Claiborne hyperextended his left knee and went down like a shot due to the pain. Yes, Smith's arm was on Claiborne's nameplate shortly before the ball arrived, but he didn't cause Morris's sudden drop to the ground. Pain did. In short, the PI was bogus, but the TD was legit.

We only get so many chances to have valuable chips to move, this is one of those times. Teams have running back issues all over and corners are always worth a fortune.
