Phillips just shook him down. Little slap to keep his hands off of him but he sure didn't do anything more than that.

I'm not sure the move back to RT is going to salvage the guy. I guess the only real plus in having him at RT instead of LT is that Romo will now see the rush coming.

You don't think criticism of this play is warranted?

Be honest with yourself.

Are you really saying that people shouldn't complain at all, even if rightfully entitled to, simply because other teams have their own issues? Does pointing out the shortcomings of other teams make you less angered about the shortcomings of this team?

Other teams' struggles do nothing for me. I don't care how the Browns do. Or the Jets. Or any other team in the league.

And lets say for a minute I bash certain players a ton. Does that change the reality of this situation regarding this specific play?

Was that not a bad play? Does that not give you reason for concern considering how weak the OL was last year, Free especially?

I don't think anyone around here was expecting a perfect roster. I wasn't. I was hoping the switch to RT would help Free but seeing things like this doesn't do anything to build my confidence.

If you can get a little reassurance that other players might suck in the NFL, have at it. I haven't forgotten the broken hand, broken collarbone and broken rib that Romo has suffered in the last 4 years alone.

These edge rushers are almost to the point of becoming unblockable. Basically every team has one and over the course of a game they are going to get loose and get to the quarterback.

I dont think you are a dumb homer at all. I just think you are the ultimate optimist and I'm not sure how you can be based the results of this franchise in the last 15 years.

I am not of the mentality that the sky is falling all the time with this team, but I have such little confidence that they have the capability to make the proper FOOTBALL decision that could catapult us into a consistant playoff team.

That being said. I do like to a certain degree the direction the team is going with Garrett and the type of caliber players he is bringing in but we continue to make poor contract decisions Scandrick, Free, Sensabaugh, Austin and ignore the trenches where games are won and lost

I don't think he is horrible either. But the difference between he and Smith is that Smith isn't coming off of a season of poor play.

If you're being honest, then you have to admit Free played poorly last year. And when you come in to this preseason seeing him whiff blocks and getting beat for sacks, that then becomes a pattern and it is a cause for concern.

It doesn't mean the sky is falling, but it also doesn't fall into the nothing-to-worry about column either.

Not worried about Free either. The guy was very good when he played RT. Not at LT, not in preseason, but playing RT in real NFL games against good competition.
