People completely forget how dominant he was as a player. Had 114 career sacks + another 17 1/2 in 22 career postseason games. His 77 season was one of the best for a defensive player ever, recording an initially reported 23 sacks in 14 games. They've since tried to revise this number but sacks were unofficial then.

It's all subjective (depending on what you deem a full sack or a ½ sack). He got the QB 23 times, of that there is no doubt, but adjusting for ½ sacks I give him 21 sacks. Heck of a season anyway (DPOY, 1st team All-Pro, SB co-MVP). See how many you think he got...
