While it's probably nothing more than wishful thinking, it kinda sounds like the door is maybe a little open here for Jones to finally do something different and PERHAPS try to bring Troy into the organization.

This season is going to tank and be a complete flop. If they made this sort of move for 2027 and beyond it would potentially erase some of the recent frustrations. Troy might or might not succeed, but at least we'd have some glimmer of hope for the first time in eons.

Jerry isn't ever giving up the GM tag. No way. I could maybe see a world where Troy takes Will McClay's role (McClay's job should definitely be in question after some of the recent drafts).

I don't care what Jerry wants to call himself as long as someone else is making the decisions and setting the culture.

Jerry called himself the GM while Jimmy was here and we all know he had nothing to do with jackshit, which is the main reason we won those 3 Super Bowls.

This was kinda buried in the "we'd make a trade to improve the team" comment from yesterday.

Apparently they WOULD consider moving someone for a blockbuster type return and to me, the most likely trade piece there would be George Pickens.

I'm not saying I would suddenly forgive Johnny Walker GM for 3 decades+ of utter failure and embarrassment, but bringing back Troy now to help right the ship and fix the environment would be exciting.

I don't know if it would work, maybe Aikman can't do the job either. But at least it would be real HOPE that something would finally be different.

Bringing in Troy would never change the culture. Besides, what makes you think Troy is a talent evaluator?

Say this slowly with me Amigo....

"he.....is.......not......Jerry"

If they bring him in to be head of FO, he's absolutely going to have an impact on the overall culture. Parcells had some impact on it but he wasnt here long enough and was burned out from a pure coaching perspective.

I don't know if he can choose talent or not. Perhaps he hires others to help with that part of the organization.

I said I had no idea if it would work, but at least it would be something different and would be pushing Jerry out of the way.

He did this when the rest of the team was basically embarrassing themselves with lousy effort and play.

It really is fun to think about what a really solid HC and staff could do with some of the young talent in place here. Yes, they absolutely need to find the next QB. But there's a lot of other pieces there that deserve better than what they are getting under Jones and fucktard Schottenheimer.

You almost have to hope for a loss tomorrow night, because if they somehow win (even an embarrassing 13-10 type shitshow) they'll convince themselves they are "close" and make some stupid move.

There'd be some yelling. Some barking.

Probably good news long term, but for the rest of this year it means we are stuck with the patented Christian Parker make the opposing QB as comfortable as possible scheme.
