Jaguars released QB Blake Bortles.

The move is now official after Nick Foles signed on the dotted line Wednesday. Foles is in on a four-year, $88 million pact. Bortles was due a $14 million salary in 2019, $6.5 million which is already fully guaranteed, and the Jaguars are now forced to eat $16.5 million in dead money on the cap. If the Dolphins are unable to land Teddy Bridgewater, perhaps Bortles gets a shot in Miami. If not there, it doesn't look like Bortles will have anywhere to potentially start in 2019.

I thought Bridgewater resigned with the Saints, now I'm seeing he's still talking to the Dolphins?

Guess this means they're going to cut losses with McKinnon?

49ers agreed to terms with RB Tevin Coleman, formerly of the Falcons, on a two-year, $10 million contract.

This would seem to indicate the Niners will move on from Jerick McKinnon, who missed all of 2018 with a torn ACL after signing a multi-year deal with the Niners last March, but coach Kyle Shanahan has never been opposed to a total timeshare in the backfield. Perhaps the money-rich Niners will just hang onto all three of McKinnon, Coleman, and Matt Breida and let it ride. Coleman was expected to command more term than this two-year deal, so it may just be a chance for the 49ers to add more talent and for Shanahan to bring in a familiar face after coaching Coleman in Atlanta. Making McKinnon a post-June 1 cut would save $3.75 million against the cap. His $3.7 million salary will be guaranteed if still on the team April 1. This will be a situation to monitor closely.

Chiefs released S Eric Berry.

This was an expected move after the Chiefs signed Tyrann Mathieu to a record-breaking contract earlier in the week. It just made no sense to commit close to $30 million in cap charges to a pair of safeties. The Chiefs, however, will have to eat the money somehow. They decided to do it with a post-June 1 designation, clearing over $9.5 million in cap space while taking on $6.95 million in dead money this year and $8 million in 2020. At the end of the day, Berry's exceptional run with the Chiefs is over after nine years.

Bears signed S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix, formerly of the Bears, to a one-year contract.

Even with Eric Berry out there, Clinton-Dix was the best safety still on the board. He will immediately slide into Adrian Amos' departed spot in center field. Although a downgrade, Clinton-Dix is a snap hog who usually forces about 4-5 turnovers per year. Generally not a liability, Clinton-Dix holds his own in coverage despite the occasional notable slip up.

Steelers, WR Moncrief agree to two-year deal
Former Jacksonville Jaguars receiver Donte Moncrief reached agreement on a two-year deal with the Pittsburgh Steelers, a source told ESPN's Adam Schefter. Moncrief signed a one-year contract worth a guaranteed $9.6 million with the Jaguars last March. He caught 48 passes for 668 yards, which were his highest totals since he caught 64 passes for 733 yards in his second season in 2015. That also was the last time he played in all 16 games.

He's versatile. He can catch passes from Nick Foles, and ride the bench the other 14 games...

Miami has its new starting quarterback. Dolphins reached agreement on a two-year deal with former Buccaneers’ QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, per source. Fitzpatrick now will join his third AFC East team, having already started for the New York Jets and Buffalo Bills.
