Doug Free is gonna prove you all wrong!!!1!1!!!

That is what the homers at CZ is saying. Mike W is defending the move by saying that they used a first round pick on the line. It should be fine. I guess Frederick can play tackle too.

Lost some leverage right there.

I think the teams idea is to get Free to reduce his salary, and then let him and Parnell battle it out in camp for the starting spot. Loser is the swing guy.

If Free isn't taking a paycut then he'll be gone on June 1 anyway.

Lolol. If all the RTs are off the market then Dallas can't cut free.

What fucking idiots. Only one that is left is Winston. I hope Winston signs and Free refuses a pay cut just to spite these clowns in our FO.

We can't make someone sign with us.

Free would have to take one hell of a paycut for me to consider keeping him as a good move. I hope Parnell is the real deal, but I have my doubts. Broaddus and several more laughed at the notion that Parnell would be starter quality at the end of last season. They didn't think he would be much better this year. It makes me question his ability when he can't beat Free for the starting tackle position.

He listed like 5 reasons why the line will be better. 4 of them could have been said if the Cowboys hadn't drafted Frederick and flat out decided to go with the same OL as last year. When 80% of your reasons why the line will be better has nothing to do with a change in personel, you're wishful thinking to a great extent.

Hopefully all the talk about Dallas not liking Winston is false...hopefully he's our top choice

Not necessarily.

Who is around to be the swing tackle? Darrion Weems? Aderious Simmons?

We sure as hell didn't sign any undrafted free agents.

We might be stupid, but I don't see how we could leave ourselves that exposed.

It will be just as easy for Jerry and Goof Son to shrug their shoulders, keep Free and convince themselves everything is okay...Callahan can just "coach them up".

We can't make someone sign with us.

Especially when you can't even be competitive.

I laugh at the gomers who sit there and think having $5M in cap space right now is more than enough to sign a player of any quality.

We are going to have to do a one year deal with someone...we sure as hell won't go long term...and we are not shooting the entire five million wad on a right tackle.

Which is probably why Free is reluctant to take a pay cut. He probably knows they don't have money to go after anyone else and are reluctant to go into the season counting on Parnell.

For as bad as Free was last year, he has played well in the past. I just wish they'd sign a vet guard to stick between him and Frederick instead of a waste of space like Bernardeau.

It's not even reluctance with Parnell. We have nobody capable of even being a swing tackle even if we felt great about Parnell. We didn't draft a guy. We didn't even sign Joe Don Dipshit from Podunk State as an undrafted free agent.

He also knows he's dealing with a pair of complete imbeciles who have zero, absolutely zero, leverage.

Jerry and Goof Son: Grrr. We will release you, Doug Free!

I am sure he is laughing in their degenerate faces, knowing they have painted themselves into a corner.

Im with you on this. I'm not sure if there is a pay cut that would make me feel comfortable with him ever starting again

I'm curious to see what the people who were happy with the draft will have to say if they don't get a FA right tackle(Clabo, Winston) and a an OG (Moore)

Are we still content with Smith, Livings, Rookie(Frederick), Bernadeau, Free/Parnell?

This is the typical Jerry...waiting to long on a situation with a player underperforming and losing out on a upgrade! Then he will tell us how Free can bounce back because he is a hard worker. It would be nice to just once hit on a middle round offensive lineman

Winston is still available.

According to Fisher (who of course reported wrongly that Free had already refused a paycut and would be released) D Day for Free now is tomorrow. Guess we shall see.
