2026 Week One: Dallas Cowboys vs. New York Giants

Don't have any strong feelings one way or another about tonight's game. Almost any result wouldn't really surprise me.

The season won't be made or lost regardless of the outcome, but if we lose and 1 of these 2 things happen (or both) it could be somewhat telling.

1) The defense doesn't look any different than the past couple years. Seems unlikely with all the changes and how well regarded Christian Parker and this new staff is, but after an offseason of optimism if we end up giving up 30+ pts and 400-500 yds, it would be a huge kick in the nads. Granted, one poor performance by the defense wouldn't be reason to give up and teams can (and do) improve as they adopt to a new scheme, but it would definitely be a bummer.

2) Prescott plays like shit and the offense is stuck in the mud. This worries me prob more than 1 above because Prescott is another year older and he didn't exactly play all that well last December either. Tyler Smith is out and Terrance Steele is a huge question mark at RT so pass protection could be an issue. Like us, the Giants have a new defensive coordinator and staff along with several new additions on D and they should be better. Their crowd will no doubt be as into a game as they have been in years.

Obviously hoping we beat their ass, but expecting a dogfight.

We'll see a different D. I firmly believe that. #2 in your post is the bigger question mark although I don't agree with your reasoning. Dak's age has nothing to do with it. He could be 10 years younger and we still wouldn't know what we'd get.

With the age thing it was more of thinking about regressing arm strength.

I wasnt there at TC obviously but there were some clips where it seemed some of his throws labored to get there. He has probably lost some rpms.
