Bad start on both sides of the ball. Already 4 penalties (one I thought was a terrible call) but 3rd and short turned into 3rd and 9 by dumbass Nate Thomas false start. 3rd down play had no chance afterward.

Good defense on 2nd series for 3 and out. Nice PBU by Carson as well after tough opening series.

Cowboys special teams picking up right where they left off last yr. The coverage units are awful and the return team got another fucking holding penalty on a fair-catch. Keeping Sorensen as ST was a real headscratcher to me and it looks no better tonight so far.

Not impressed with this new revamped defense

And Caleb seatbelt Carson needs to sit his fucking ass back down. 2 penalties on the same drive to give them first downs. He should be benched this second

I don’t care if this is preseason.
The first one was BS and we'd have been off the field.

Had a great PBU on 2nd series.

We are looking like the same old undisciplined Cowboys on both sides of the ball.

I had hoped the change in coaching staff, and Shotty’s supposed change in culture was going to help cut back on this type of sloppy play

I guess not. It’s more of the same

Why are they running the munchkin up the gut?

That’s not his game. He’s not built to pound it up the middle and break tackles.

Get it to him out in open space and give the lil guy a chance to make a play

One thing is obvious after the first quarter, they don't have a legit #3 OT on the roster.

Nate Thomas had a terrible 1st quarter. Didnt block anybody and should have gotten called for two false starts (one was called).

TJ Bass also now out of the game (appears to be coaches decision). Coaches removed Downs, Revel and PJ Locke after a few plays of the opening drive.

Chill Amigo. Its a bunch of backups, many who are scrubs. (like Nate Thomas)

2nd series D was good. 2nd series O was good. It's not that bad.

Backup OL is not good though and they'll need to seriously consider a couple of moves for depth there. Bass is all they have.

They saw him just fine to be able to tackle him with minimal gain.

Look at the difference

Munchkin up the gut - 2 to 3 yards, first contact and he gets stopped

Mafah up the middle and he bolws ppl over and gets 5-8 yards

Are we playing our 4th and 5th stringers already?

There are a bunch of names out there I don’t even recognize. Not even from training camp.

Mostly.

M Lawrence did have back to back nice plays. One on a run stop and then beat the RT for a nice rush, unfortunately backup LBs behind blew the QB scramble containment and gave up the 3rd and 11 conversion.

Good end to the half. Other than the kinda BS call on Carson on opening series (that was a 3rd down "PI") we've done ok.

Good half for Sam Howell all things considered. OL didnt help him, Blue or Mafah at all but Howell handled it well. Couple good plays by rookie TE Trigg and then sensational TD catch by rookie UDFA Camden Brown. Overcome massive PI (that wasnt called) and still made a great TD grab. Continuing the same stuff he's done all camp.

Pass rush really picked up on last couple drives and it was all with 4 man rushes. James Houston had a ton of pressure and a sack. DL drew several OL holding calls. Seattle only managed 31 yds passing in the first half.

On the downside, the backup OL has struggled badly. Nate Thomas finally benched (during the last series, he was horrendous the whole half) and the guy who replaced him looked much better. None of the backup OL can run block.
