Darline Graham breaks with brother on nuking filibuster

Senate Majority Leader John Thune (R-S.D.), Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) and others have strongly railed against abolishing the filibuster, although President Trump sees it as a pathway for approving the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE America) Act.

On Monday, Darline Graham said she is “100 percent behind” the president and that Trump has in turn embraced the political newcomer with open arms.

In early July, the president said he asked her to run for Senate for the “Good of our Nation.”
What good would nuking the filibuster do? Republicans pass the save act and Democrats will use a slim majority to overturn it AND give illegals citizenship. Once they do that there will be no reversing it even if Republicans regain power - which will never happen if Democrats should take control again.

I know the argument is that Democrats will nuke the filibuster anyway. I am not so sure about that. There are Democrats like Fetterman that will not go along with a plan to end the filibuster. When push comes to shove I believe there are other Democrats that will not cross that line no matter how many others hem and holler about it.

If they nuke the filibuster and take care of the Trump agenda, it's highly unlikely the Dems will ever regain power. They can't win fair elections without massive voter fraud.

You're being naive if you really think Dems won't get in line behind the top of their party power, regardless of how fruit loopish it is. Somewhat normal people like Fetterman will either be out and out replaced by the Dem machine or he will do what some believe and switch parties. As a few other notable Democrats are doing.

You guys are pinning your hopes on Fetterman will be very disappointed. He'll flip when the Dems regain power and side with them. It's all an act....

It's true he could be somewhat of a trojan horse, but I do believe some of his frustrations with the extreme side are probably legit.

I'm not pinning my hope on anything with him, just pointing out he'll either become so much of a nuisance to the extremists running the Dem party that they will bury him and replace him in a primary, or he might bail on them beforehand and switch parties.

Like I said almost all the Dems will do exactly as they are told to do, or the Leftist machine will cut them off from money and any power.

Hate seeing this, makes a Republican win for this spot far less likely.

On one hand it's gratifying to see Dem voters reject a nutjob finally, on the other hand I'd rather see the Republican run against that nutjob.

I am not the naive one. To think Dems will never take control again is just folly. Just look at the youth today- ignorant and far left leaning. Boomers are dying off at a record pace and they were holding up the conservative party. It is only a matter of time before the far left takes control over America but before that Democrats will win. Whether Republicans nuke the filibuster or not only puts off the inevitable for a few short years.

The leftists have done what they had to to. First, then convinced young white American women that having children was bad for them. Then, they convinced the likes of Joe Biden to open the borders and flood the country will third world immigrants tolerant of corruption and oppression. At least 10% of the country is comprised of illegal aliens now. A further significant percentage is legal immigrants for the third world and in particular Muslim countries. These people are having children while American born women are not. Time is not on the side of America.
