He's supposedly going to see more carries tomorrow night too.

Really think they missed the boat last yr a little with him, he should have been getting the bulk of short yardage runs for sure.

They've had quite a few rush plays so far in this camp where Luepke got carries.

Micah question...

Micha is already contracted to play through this season, correct???

So Micah is a Cowboy and remains a Cowboy until something like a trade changes that.

So the phrase "Micah is gonna be a Cowboy" is sorta funny. But I understand what people are saying with that...

GAME DAY people!

Excited to see Milton and a lot of the rookies and young guys.

Yeah yeah I know, ultimately the season is likely to be a mass disappointment because of injuries and the fucked up way the Jones-tards run the team, but I still get excited for the start of it all anyway. There will be plenty of time for me to hate on them later in the season.

BTB article today

The Dallas Cowboys will play a football game on Saturday when they square off against the Los Angeles Rams in their first preseason contest of the season. There will be plenty of things vying for our attention, but what will you be watching for the most? Here are five things to watch when the Cowboys square off against the Rams on Saturday night.

1. Joe Milton, QB

It would be surprising to see Dak Prescott in preseason action, so that means we’ll get a heavy dose of backup quarterback Joe Milton III this month. From the moment the team made the trade to acquire Milton from the New England Patriots, excitement grew about possibly having a playmaking backup quarterback, and now, fans will finally get to see what he can do in action. Milton did endure a thumb injury earlier in the week, but appears to be fine. This is a big moment for this Cowboys team as the difference between having a quality backup compared to a struggling one is significant, especially when you consider Prescott’s recent struggles to stay healthy.

2. Phil Mafah, RB

The Cowboys are looking for anyone to step in and help out at running back, and this year, the team has two rookies vying for a role on this team. Both Jaydon Blue and Phil Mafah were selected on Day 3 of the draft, as each of them offers a different skill set. While Blue is the favored player, he suffered an ankle injury this week. That could mean a good dose of the former Clemson running back on Saturday. Honestly, more eyes will be on the offensive line’s ability to open creases, but any running back who finds a way to capitalize will be a welcome sight.

3. Asim Richards, OT

The team suffered a huge blow when Tyler Guyton went down with an injury last month. This leaves a void at left tackle. Currently, second-year player Nate Thomas has slid into the starting LT spot, and he’ll be given first crack at the job, but don’t sleep on third-year player Asim Richards. Over the last two years, Richards has always put together quality preseason games, which have earned him playing time in the regular season when the Cowboys get banged up. Don’t be surprised if the more experienced backup emerges as the more reliable option at left tackle while Guyton recovers from injury.

4. Traeshon Holden, WR

Every year, there is a new wide receiver who dazzles in training camp. This year, that player is undrafted free agent Traeshon Holden. The former Oregon Duck wideout has been hoarding the highlight reel over the last few weeks, living in the back of the end zone. He impressed with an amazing one-handed touchdown catch when Milton found him scurrying over the middle. The Cowboys are in much better shape at wide receiver after the George Pickens trade, but they are still looking for depth guys to step up and fill the bottom of the roster. Let’s see if what Holden has done in practice can carry over into games.

5. Zion Childress, CB

If Holden isn’t this year’s UDFA star, then who will be? While most are focused on rookie safety Alijah Clark, there’s another rookie defensive back turning heads in camp. Former Kentucky Wildcat Zion Childress has been playing with the first team at the nickel corner position. He’s a physical player who attacks the ball, and his aggressiveness has been showing up in training camp. Having a player like Childress be the standout UDFA would be music to the defense’s ears, as they are walloped with injuries, so it couldn’t come at a more needed position.
