You're almost a month early, these rosters will change greatly. None of the Super Bowl participants will be in the Pro Bowl at all even if they're listed here. So, I trust you'll keep us updated for the next 27 days?

The only time the Pro Bowl has ever been more than mildly interesting was that couple of years where they had HOF captains and they drafted the teams.

I'm not talking about the players voted in. Remember when they had captains like Emmitt, Jerry Rice, etc., and they drafted who'd be on which team; it wasn't just NFC vs. AFC. They only did it for a couple of years, but it put a little life into what's for my money been the stalest all-star game of any major sport.

I do remember that, and they stopped doing it because the already poor ratings, tanked. They took it too far, they could have still had the captains but kept it NFC/AFC.

To make it relevant and interesting, it should be all-stars of the rookie deal classes - coached by the veterans as a staff. Head coach, coordinators, assistants would all be veteran players. Let the guys who don't get much playing time during the season have a showcase. They'd put on a lot better show.

Take it a step further and have NFL head coaches, be the officials!

You get what I'm saying. The format now doesn't work, hasn't for years, if it ever did. You don't necessarily have to go back to that, the options are nearly endless. But for God's sake do something to change it. If you don't, eventually it'll die beyond the point of revival. The only reason it hasn't already is simply the NFL.

Well, the ratings went back up after they removed the gimmick. But really they should just do away with it completely if I'm honest.

COOPER AND JAYLON SMITH ADDED TO PRO BOWL

The Cowboys have two more Pro Bowlers on their roster.

The team announced that wide receiver Amari Cooper and linebacker Jaylon Smith have been added to the NFC Pro Bowl roster. They are taking the places of Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans and Panthers linebacker Luke Kuechly.

Cooper caught 79 passes for 1,189 yards and eight touchdowns for the Cowboys during the regular season. He’s headed toward free agency unless the Cowboys re-sign him or tag him before the start of the 2020 league year.

Smith had 142 tackles, 2.5 sacks, two forced fumbles and an interception. It is his first Pro Bowl selection.

Running back Ezekiel Elliott, left tackle Tyron Smith, center Travis Frederick and right guard Zack Martin were also named to the NFC roster.
