2022 NFL Week 7: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

Yeah its not the QB at all. There were definitely plays I saw where Gallup (or someone else) was essentially wide open and Prescott never looked that way. One of Prescott's worst traits is reading the field. It greatly limits how good he can ever truly become IMO.

Poll question- will we make a trade by deadline

I think Dowdle is hurt right no so they had called up Malik Davis (who many thought should have made the team over him anyway). They also have Quadre Ollison on the PS and he played for Quinn in Atlanta.

Poll question- will we make a trade by deadline

I think they may make one more trade. WR makes some sense, so does LB if it's a proven starter with some speed. The other possibility may be some OL depth with Farniok being out awhile now

Poll question- will we make a trade by deadline

Nailed it with the big body guy on DL. But why RB?

Poll question- will we make a trade by deadline

It's really a yes/no question along with adding your opinion on what position (or specific player) you'd want to target. I'd say throw out junk like "go get Josh Allen or Aaron Donald" because that stuff clearly isnt happening. That said, here's a list of potential names I've seen the NFL media...

2022 NFL Week 7: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

I don't think they "blindly" just handed him the money. They had a decent idea what his worth was going to be. I think we overpaid, but comparatively speaking its not as egregious now as it was at the time. What you claim is irresponsible or incompetent is exactly the way probably 95-98% of...

2022 NFL Week 7: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

Its kinds of a conundrum. If we had done what you suggested and he left, we didn't already have a potential answer in place and expecting to get one out of the draft (even if you use really high pick/s to get one) is a total crapshoot. If you could know 100% that Prescott would give the Cowboys...

Putting this here as Colts are on our schedule later in the season. Looks like the Matt Ryan experiment is over. https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/colts-matt-ryan-benched-amid-injury-frank-reich-calls-sam-ehlinger-starter-for-the-rest-of-the-season/

Depth on OL taking another hit as Farniok is gone for awhile now.

Our roster is better overall because we've drafted really well and made some tough business decisions on some other high dollar guys. We've spent peanuts in free agency our self and some of that the Jones boys acknowledge is because of the decision they made with Prescott.

2022 NFL Week 7: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

They had no 1st rd pick OL's, Big E and Stepnoski were 3rd rd picks. Jimmy didnt draft Larry Allen (came in 1994) and he was the highest of the bunch in the 2nd. The unit was nasty as hell, worked their asses off and were EXTREMELY well coached by Tony Wise and then Hudson Houck. The DL wasnt...

2022 NFL Week 7: Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys

Jimmy's theory worked because he had a HOF QB, RB, WR and elite OL all in the prime, which got leads and controlled the clock almost every week.

I was speaking to the part about selling the future for one guy and coddling said guy entire time. THAT is very similar to what we did with #4

A trip down memory lane. Games that I made the trip to Dallas for at Texas Stadium: 1) 1991 season finale vs Atlanta. Heckuva game and Emmitt won his first career rushing title that day. Fans hung around in the stadium after the game waiting on Detroit's results. The next week we won our first...

The stadium with the hole in the roof opened. Honestly I wished they still played there, it was a far better atmosphere than that fucking monstrosity in Arlington is.

Massive homerun getting this guy where we did in the draft. If he isn't the best CB in football, he is not very far off.
