FWST: Romo’s ticket complaint to Cowboys fans way off-base

Am I the only one who wishes Jerruh would keep the roof open, and the doors at either end open? We're not a dome team, are we? Part of the noise factor is the closed dome. Why would it be closed up like this in other than absolutely inclement weather?

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

Most all of us have been in general agreement that Carrot Top didn't run the ball enough in past years. That he goes away from it, abandons it, in games when it is working. Although he never gave a reason that I can remember, clearly it was not because it was ineffective.

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

I gave you the numbers and the average ypc. It's not the most stellar running game ever but it was productive and grossly underused the last few years. Running the ball isn't sexy. But with Romo's back issues this year it became a thang to do. Hopefully they don't abandon it like they are wont...

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

I dunno what to tell you but... 2010: 1786 yds, 4.2 avg 2011: 1807 yds, 4.4 avg 2012: 1265 yds, 3.8 avg 2013: 1504 yds, 4.5 avg 2014: 800 yds, 4.9 avg (so far.) In 12 and 13 there were much fewer attempts than in 10 and 11. Production down because carries were down. When you are seeing these...

Probably why I can't offhand remember us trying that route. I can definitely see later rounders not making immediate impact as starters, but that's not what this is about.

PFF wk 5 all star team

There's going to be alot of good OL free agents this coming offseason. Might have to replace Free with one of those. You could also build more depth with later round drafts for O-linemen. It would be toweringly irresponsible not to get something good for this defense next draft.

    Trade for DL help?

Where did I say that? It's been all but neutered, league wide, mostly by the new defensive holding rule. You got few sacks because the ball is gone. This isn't just a problem in Dallas, in fact it's pretty much league wide. Never said any of that either. I've said Dez is worth about what Dallas...

Wilson: 20 picks and 20 fumbles, in 2 1/4 seasons. They get away with it because of that great defense. I like our chances more if we make him try to beat us with his arm. Containment and some blanket coverage will get you the sacks.

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

But you well know there hasn't been any real commitment to the run, scheme wise, in a very long time in Dallas. Even with the "old bums" we still had respectable averages per carry. They just simply, didn't want to run the ball. It wasn't sexy enough for them. News flash - when you have short...

This game will hinge on turnovers. We absolutely, positively cannot afford any against the world champs. Period.

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

Thing is, the running game was working when it was used. Only reason they finally stay with it this year was Tony's back. If they would have played smash mouth consistently in years prior, the o-lines they had would have jelled, and you might not need three 1st round draft picks for it. Might...

    Trade for DL help?

It's simply just, the pass rush is alot more neutered in the modern game, with all the quick release throwing going on. The ball just doesn't stay in the passer's hand as much as it used to. Hardly anyone is getting to any passer with any consistency. It's not like this is a glaring problem in...

So it looks like we're actually kind of good

I think we all agree the play selection and the commitment to the running game this year has helped Romo tremendously. It's not like we haven't HAD a good running game, we just for some reason refused to really utilize it. We have this year, so far. Train driver then.

    PFF on our pass-rush

Nobody's really racking up any sack numbers to speak of, anywhere. The ball is out too fast usually.
