Novacek wasn't acquired via trade, he was a plan B free agent pickup. Bugel left him unprotected. The Haley trade? Used pick acquired via the Walker trade. So, it's part of the win of the Walker deal.
Tony's pretty much said this himself before. He's called himself "reactionary." He said his back injury forced him to re-evaluate his entire game. I take him at his word.
His back is the time bomb. They recently disclosed he actually tweaked it week one vs. the Giants last season. The clavicle is now a second IED. The dude really should start thinking about a future where he can play with his kids.
Time Bomb Tony, like I've been saying.
I don't expect any rookie CB/S to be "great" especially with no pass rush to speak of. The kid's got plenty of room to improve though that is true. But so far he looks like a keeper.
Only a Sophomore. Has come out for the draft very early and is at the combine.

Cousin of Marion Barber.
And there's "a number" of them who didn't.
I'm not making excuses for anyone. I am pointing out - accurately - that when you hand a million bucks over to a kid he's typically not going to be all that responsible with it.
Randle's a celebrity now? Move goalposts much? Talk football. Look at the...
Who if you'll recall, pretty much sucked his first year starting but was still clearly their future guy. He didn't come out all-pro or anything.
Doubtful a 4th round QB pick will sit much. Time Bomb Tony will be carried off the field early again, and the veteran backup will of course, suck.
Last year's schedule LOOKED bad, but turned out to be what would have been a cakewalk had we had a coach who could win with a backup QB. Look at the records of the teams we played.
Strength of Schedule based on last year's results doesn't mean jack shit.
I do not mean that at all. Sitting and learning teaches you nothing about the speed of the game and doesn't get you any rapport with your receivers. It's overrated.
