Wait- it's LEGAL for a defender to slap the ball out of the quarterback's hand, and another to pick it up and run it into the end zone? I just saw that shit happen in this Seattle game. Would someone please tell OUR guys this shit? Could make a big difference in our games!

Wait- it's LEGAL for a defender to step in front of a receiver, catch the ball instead, and run it into the end zone? I just saw that shit happen in this Seattle game. Would someone please tell OUR guys this shit? Could make a big difference in our games!

Should we draft a franchise QB in 2018 if we get the chance?

Right now. Again, see me after week 14.

Not necessarily. He probably goes bankrupt and never sees a NFL chance again, more likely. This was 1966. And it was a horrid financial deal his daddy wisely talked him out of. The problem is, Scot thought Jerry tried to buy the Chargers in 88 or 89, therefore assumed Jimmy would have gone...

Should we draft a franchise QB in 2018 if we get the chance?

Get back to me on this somewhere around week 14. I'll know more then if we have a QB problem that justifies a 1st round pick for a new one.

There's literally NO way to know any of that or even reasonably conjecture it. If Jerry buys the Chargers in 1966 then you don't know it it ever goes through the Coryell years or not, you have no idea if the Chargers are even LOOKING for a coach in 1989, or even if Dallas is.

You're agreeing because of the incorrect premise, that jerry would have hired Jimmy to coach the Chargers. There's NO way to know WHAT ALL would have happened for Dallas in the late 80s-late 90s, had Jerry bought the Chargers in 1966.

This is the exact idiotic bullshit "conventional thinking" that produces results like we saw today. Force the ball to Dez, when has that EVER fucking worked?

Yep and Jimmy was giving swats in study hall at Picayune (MS) High School or some such shit, defensive line assistant on a fucking 0-9 team, thinking he was going to go back to college for his masters in psychology instead of continuing in coaching.

Y'all have your timeline all wrong. Jerry tried to buy the Chargers in '69 or some shit. Jimmy wouldn't have been anywhere near that picture.

It was a 20 year wait. Chargers were still a AFL team when Jerry tried to buy it. 60s.

No. This was way before Jimmy was a well established coach.

Once you lift your foot off that accelerator, mentally it's hard to drop it back even for seasoned teams. Plus now you're used to lifting it. Will come back to bite us with a big lead in a big game. We'll lift, and lose.
