Day After Thoughts- huge opening day flop

Timid is what we saw. Timid and yes confused. Almost like there's a ton of gadgetry in the defense clogging the players' brains up with so much extraneous shit that they don't know what to do or even where the fuck to line up. Hesitation kills. It's a wonder LA didn't run up an extra couple of...

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

You're taking away a major threat, one of the few players we have that a defense might be a little scared of. You're just helping the defense.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

IN crunch time, YOU DON'T SIT ZEKE! If you think he's getting gassed you run play-action and chuck it downfield! But you keep him in there if only as a threat! Sitting him out especially when we're mashing them and he's dealing blows is just stupid.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

You kick the FG there. But this choice stemmed from taking Zeke out of the game just when he was building momentum and we were mashing them up front. Two stupid dink passes later and we have 3rd and six. Unconsionable.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

Annnnnd... The hype train derails. Hey fuckers, remember when I warned you all that Lamb burning our secondary in practice was a BAD thing? That it said more about our suckass incompetent secondary than it said about Lamb? Aight then. Dismal performance all the way around. Timid and playing not...

Wow as soon as I said that about no blitzes and no turnovers, we start blitzing and got a pick!

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

It's a timid philosophy. Especially on the backend. We're playing prevent in our own red zone for crying out loud. Timid zone coverage at all other times. No stunts, no blitzing. "Let 'em catch it and make the tackle." No turnovers either, something they touted all offseason.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

The one they did run was a Zeke TD. Called back by an illegal downfield block that would have been fine after the catch. But not before.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

Yep really hard to gripe. We're up at halftime against a pretty good team in spite of it all. That TD run at the end was brutal. We just mashed 'em.

Giving up only 10 points thus far doesn't elicit a gripe from me.

That's the spin from the team. But on the sideline it was his neck they were working on. He's inside, getting x-rays.

Throwing more to Zeke has been an ask of mine for 3 years. Good to see it happening a lot more again. Zeke looks in shape too. Lamb looking impressive with his first touch.

Neck problems already for VanderEsch. Imagine that. What'd I fucking say.

Not pleased with anything I've seen thus far.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

Interestingly the crowd noise is piped in by the stadiums themselves. It's regulated by the league to never be more than 75 decibels. The networks aren't putting in the crowd noise or sweetening it in any way. Good read here...

Annnnd then they gave up two quick TDs. 14-7 Saints.

2020 NFL Week 1: Dallas Cowboys at Los Angeles Rams

Four new QBs opened the scoring in their first games either as a rookie or as a veteran with a new club, with TD scoring runs. Newton, Brady and now Joe Football Burrows among the notables.

Note to the Minnesota Football Club: You can't let the opponent hang a fortyburger on you and then expect to win the ballgame. It almost never ever happens.
