Dallas Cowboys 2026 Draft Picks & UDFA Thread

Any kind of competition for the current offensive tackle room I fully support as I have little confidence in the existing starters. Heck, I would love a Taylor Decker signing. I know, I know, salary cap and all that. But I'm just letting it be known he's still out there too though.

Dallas Cowboys 2026 Draft Picks & UDFA Thread

I just have been so tainted by the long list of college injured Cowboy draftees that I now seek a minimum 2 to 3 seasons injury free before I can even approve if they were worth the draft pick. In my eyes those originally damaged goods usually don't improve that much or even get worse.

His measurables are eye opening. Would love for him to turn out to be a better version of a Martellus Bennett type minus Trigg's reported maturity issues. Ferg has his moments every now and again but this kid looks to have a little wow factor in his raw athleticism.

Dallas Cowboys 2026 Draft Picks & UDFA Thread

I mean he's got the outside speed get off but is he not just that same hoped for edge like Gregory(without the weed), Kneeland or EZ that they have already been drafting? I mean, that is, if I'm allowed to be critical on this forum without immediately being called a clueless hater as with other...

    Dallas Cowboys 2026 Offseason Thread

Yeah I have a hard time depending on an oft injured Overshown and James as the only 2 at the second level of the defense as well, so good call there. But then again I also have a hard time depending on any of the current offensive tackles as passblockers or Gary and a post surgery Ezeiraku as...

Just get that overwhelming feeling of how the team is in such good hands every time a mic is shoved in front of him or papa. Such a reassuring future.

Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

Yeah I think both your facts here sum up about where my line of objective thinking lies. Pretty good but not near best annual salary in the NFL good and who expects a little more at that salary against the stronger competition. That's it.

Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

Nah, not all of it. But at 60 million per, I think it's reasonable to expect a little more return on investment than a 10-14-1 record In your last 2 years' 25 starts. But that's just me.

Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

I hear ya. With the draft capital lost and all. But the end game is all the same though and Dak's win-loss record since signing for 60 million annually has produced exactly the same zero postseason success that the Browns' investment did. So they may have lost more draft capital given up but...

Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

One was an upfront in writing 230 million dollar guarantee. Spread out over 5 years. Prescott's was just 60 mil per spread out over 4 years. So pretty much one in the same.

Who Here is Not Entirely Sold on Dak Prescott?

As with most bad news stuff when you see it in writing it tends to have an even bigger impact on you. Man, there's just such a lack of return on investment here that Prescott's entire tenure will always be as the most overpaid QB in NFL history. What a legacy.

I would have liked an additional vet edge, vet offball linebacker and vet offensive tackle to feel reasonably confident that those 3 positions had noticeably improved from last year. So i guess I was looking for mores actual budget busting by Jerry. But I like the back up QB and safety position...

Cuts, signings, trades and more from around the league

Yeah, you are so right. The infamous wait until the 11th hour Jerry Jones contract negotiating has literally cost the team millions in wasted contract money. Contract money that could have easily been saved IF he had just identified his good/elite player and paid him ahead of time. Now these...

    Dallas Cowboys 2026 Offseason Thread

Yeah, based off your summary here we really need some return to pre-injury form from both Bland and Revel. I'm more concerned about Bland than Revel as I'm thinking that Revel will now have had the full recovery and rehab time he needed to return to the player he was prior to his knee surgery...

So, what's the CB room rundown so far, starters and backups...? Revel and Bland on the outside and Durant in the slot and Carson, Stewart, Butler and now Balentine serving as any combination of positional depth backups? Who'd I miss?

I'm in Pensacola, so I wouldnt mind seeing a local kid do well. Witherspoon went to high school about a mile from my house.

Me too. The team would have to honestly question themselves whether additional defensive support through trade or draft or combination of the 2 could help the team just as much as Pickens getting a new deal. I guess there would need to be a huge leap by Fluornoy as WR2 but he did flash...
