It's the dog days of the off season and like the rest of you I am bored so.....

I definitely agree with this. dbair simply can't admit what Roger and most intelligent people know, it was a BAD PASS. This does not mean Smith couldn't have or shouldn't have caught it. It's his JOB to catch the fucking ball.

Yeah I was all of 16 and remember every snap. Don't need any VCRs. I also remember thinking I was seeing the beginning of the end of the era of Cowboys domination for a good long time. The defending champs couldn't repeat.

Looking at and seeing a RARE horrible pass by the Hall of Famer Staubach.

He actually blamed Landry, and even called a timeout to discuss the play he was calling, they'd never ran it in any other situation other than goal line, and Roger thought it was a bad call. Landry told him "just run the play." If only Roger had thrown accurately, Smith would have caught it...

Especially if you're billed as a "Doomsday" defense.

I can't help it if you want to dispute Roger Staubach, and can't tell a horrid pass when you see one. They'd practiced that a gazillion times and a gazillion times the pass was perfect, leading Jackie with a shoulder-high pass instead of coming in knee-high and way behind him. He wasn't ready...

Smith didn't lose that game for us any more than Randy White did by fielding that poor kickoff and trying to return it with his hand and arm in a cast, or any more than our secondary did getting burned repeatedly. Blaming Smith is silly, the pass was terrible even by Staubach's admission.

It’s time to move on from Dez

I think his opinion of it is that it's a necessary evil, something you only really NEED to do when it's 4th and short. It's not something he believes is essential to winning football.

It’s time to move on from Dez

You post "we're doomed" and then "we're fucked" like it's some kind of fucking news to you, or somehow you'd thought we had turned a corner or some shit and are only just now waking up and smelling the 21 year-old coffee. And we're neither doomed or fucked, we're just the same as we were the day...

It’s time to move on from Dez

"Fucked" how? We're not pretending we haven't been "fucked" since 1997 are we? Why so upset now? This shit has been going on for the last 21 years. You been living under a rock?

Our GM Decided to go on Vacation for Free Agency

Maytag repairman, he has a pat hand. Just one or two plays away from winning that Lombardi, why not catch some fun in the sun! None of the others have the pat hand Jerruh thinks he has!

It’s time to move on from Dez

"Doomed" how? We're not pretending we haven't been "doomed" since 1997 are we? 9-7 is considered a "successful" season around The Star. Mediocrity is acceptable. There's no financial sense at all in cutting Dez this year. NEXT year, you bet. But not this year. They can still restructure him to...

But seriously, they think 12-4 and 13-3 were real results and they were only a play or two away from winning it all. They haven't any suspicion they have a mediocre team with horrid coaching and terrible chemistry. Therefore they're going to just try to keep the roster static and double down yet...

    Cowboys and free agency

Actually it makes since to keep Dez this year, hate to say. He's 8 mil dead money this year if we cut him, only 4 mil dead next year if we cut him - BUT we will save 12.5 mil on the cap if we cut him next year vs. only 8 mil this year. Barring a restructure, that is. In which case we only add...
