2024 Week Five: Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers

I heard Jerry admit that we are in a soft rebuild. It doesn't make it any better, but I can better accept his moves if that is the case. He might be trying to get in a better position with the cap. McCarthy is not Dave Campo. He is not a sacrificial lamb. But it is a similar situation. I think...

2024 Week Five: Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers

Dallas is playing the Steelers much tougher than I had envisioned considering all the injuries. The current score is Dallas 6 Pitt 10. If not for F ups by our overhyped and, hence, overpaid QB we might be winning. Steelers just blocked a FG. That needs to be tightened up because if we win this...

2024 Week Four: Dallas Cowboys at NY Giants

Well, well, well, look who decided to show up and play ball. When I saw Mazi make one play I had to check the number on the jersey. Could that have been his breakout game? We can surely use him playing like that and when Phillips comes back (I'm still not sure if Phillips is any good) then maybe...

    Day After Thoughts- More embarrassment

I assume fats means McCarthy. If I recall correctly, McCarthy is fond of adapting his scheme to the players rather than finding players who fit the scheme. There are pros and cons to each way. I personally favor having a scheme and finding players who fit it.

It depends on who you're going up against too. Dallas might have been talented, but others had more, or equal, talent. Give the other guy some credit. Jimmy didn't win in Miami.

I haven't seen a coach yet who was so good that he really “could take his’n and beat your’n, then take your’n and beat his’n.”

Bill was fired from the Browns and although he was not technically fired from NE, he was. Not Tom Landry, not Chuck Noll, not Don Shula could win when the talent wasn't there. Scheme can only do so much. This is why we saw guys like George Siefert and Mooch suck after San Fran. We are sad at...

    Day After Thoughts- More embarrassment

If a team can't run and can't stop the run, it has problems. Naturally, a team can overcome it by maybe having an excellent passing attack, which we did last year (but we also had Pollard), but this year Dak might have less time because of 2 rookies starting (hopefully that will change as the...

Time will tell. If we see Billichick hired and he is changing out a lot of players, then we need to ask why is he changing out so many players if the talent is there? The Cowboys' run defense is ranked 29th. It doesn't take a mastermind to know what Brian Daboll will try. Drafting Mazi Smith...

I heard Bill say that. I don't believe he was being truthful. I even thought that maybe Bill is pulling a Jimmy Johnson and sabotaging McCarthy (not defending McCarthy). Jimmy sabotaged Shula. I don't know how anyone looks at this team as says they have plenty of talent. Yes, they have talent...

If Jerry didn't have such a huge ego, he'd hire a GM for no other reason that it would give him someone else to put the blame on and fire.

Good info. Something is amiss in Big D. I don't know the exact details, but Jordan Phillips apparently said his wrist is fine, yet Dallas out him on IR. Perhaps people aren't communicating the way they should or people are lying.

Oh, BTW, per Spotrac, in 2024 Josh Allen has a cap hit of 30 million. In 2025 Josh Allen has a cap hit of 60.7 million In 2024, Dak has a cap hit of 43 million. In 2025 Dak has a cap hit of 89 million. Even if we pretend that Dak is better than Josh, is he 13 million better in 2024 and nearly...

The good news is that at least we aren't the Jaguars. Doug Pederson should be fired immediately after the game if the Jags can't at least make it respectable. I'm also a Buffalo Bills fan. I used to have season tickets. The Bills are good, but not this good. It's half-time as I write this and...

I did think he would send the game into OT with a 70 yarder. He can hit from 70, I think.

It's hard to take precise screenshots of what I want to show, but this is the long stiff arm run by Henry. I'll leave the analysis to others. But to me, Osa got manhandled and D-Ware was pushed away by Chauncey Golston. Do you see the smallish Micah Parsons? He is hard to see because he is also...

If a team can't run the ball then the team needs to have a great passing attack that can eat the clock. One of the hallmarks of the great Niners teams was that they had a lot of short passes that were as good as a handoff. If a team can't stop the run, it needs to score on offense and eat the...

I assume that you are going back to last year. I don't want to write a long post. But I think you'll find that is several of those blowout games we played teams who, in essence, had no true QB. We got off to a lead, got maybe a special teams play, then the other team had to take chances with no...
