I'm not sure how I'm reaching?? Teams don't give mid-season 5-year extensions to guys they don't see as starters.

You guys keep mentioning that his contract isn't bad, and you are right, but the Cowboys didn't just give him a 5-year extension because they thought he was a solid back-up or a great special teamer. They gave it to him because they felt he was doing a bang-up job as a starter.

I hate all things Redskins but I like Landry. He plays with anger (roid rage?) and is a presence out there. He's really improved on his awful coverage issues from the past few years. I would take him over Elam and Sensabaugh every day.

IMO the defense needs a traditional NT which will slide Ratliff over to DE and that fixes the no-pressure-from-DE's issue. Another pass rushing threat at LOLB. An ILB faster than me and hopefully Bruce Carter solves that. Two better safeties but the "braintrust" is content with Sensabaugh, so...

Disagree with you here. Had he declared for the Supplemental Draft I would have thought he's the same troubled, immature kid he had been at Florida for 3 years. By going to a new school, staying trouble free, I think he showed maturity. The combine interviews will be really important with him...
