Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

I don't care about popularity, I can buy season tickets to see the Timbers play MLS for $20 a game, cheaper than standing room tickets for the Cowboys. I enjoy the game and your opinion of it does not mean anything to me.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

Simple economics 101, if owners can raise prices instead of lose money on work stoppage that is the route to take. Simple economics 101, they are going to raise the prices on the fans regardless of what happens to the CBA and an owner win will not mean less of an increase. They are not less...

    Mike Sims-Walker cut from Jaguars

The other 31 owners could save themselves a lot of money by ditching this crappy franchise. The NFL is currently ripe with TE talent, there is no need for a team with so many holes to spend that kind of money on a luxury position.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

How are the owners giving up more to the players? The owners are trying to take back from the players what was already promised to them in the 18 year old CBA. The fact is player salaries are not scaling proportional to revenue increases while owner's net income is yet it is the players greed...

Mich. high school player dies after winning shot

Grief counselors? Christ, kids are so freakin melodramatic these days. When a kid died while I was in high school we had a kegger in his honor. We're growing a nation of wusses.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

Average salary in 1985 was $217k and in 2007 it was $1.75m for an increase of 800%. Over the same span league revenues increased from $800m to $8b, or 1000%. But go ahead and blame the players for taking advantage of the owner's greed. They agreed to a salary cap 18 years ago and the owners...

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

Salaries scale based on profit, not the other way around. Entertainment is a luxury and the NFL isn't the only business raping the country for huge salaries. Just look at Charlie Sheen and his $1.5M per episode TV show or all of the crappy singers making it big off of stupid teenage girls.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

That part is irrelevant. Your claim was that player salaries drive up the prices, but that is unfounded. Their salaries increase because the players are gauranteed a percent of the profit and profits have been going up. Consumerism drives the market just like every consumer industry in America.

That is your opinion, no matter how wrong it is.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

Yes. You charge what people will pay, not what you think is fair. These owners didn't become millionaires by leaving prices low when consumers will pay more.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

I'm sure they can figure it out on their own.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

If I have to start paying to watch the NFL I'll just give up on it. Soccer is a better spectator sport and Portland has a team in the MLS now so I am ready to make the switch. I can survive on NCAA and MLS if need be.

Interesting CBA comment from Aiello tonight:

That is a stupid comment. Colleges make tons of money without having to pay their players, the money will be there no matter how big a share the players get. Stick to football, economics is way over your head.

Sturm's Cowboys analysis: Respected leader Marcus Spears likely walks

Seymour also plays with NTs instead of a third DE in the middle of the line.

    Sturm - Cowboys defense analysis

Not a good point about Scandrick and the DEs. Out of all of the DLs listed they only played a total of 2636 snaps from a possible 3120 total, so for almost half of our defensive stats we only had two DLs on the field. Yeah those numbers are stupid and probably wrong. Bowen only started half...

Sturm's Cowboys analysis: Respected leader Marcus Spears likely walks

DEs in the 3-4 are not expected to be speedy pass rushers. Spears is good at his job but part of running the 3-4 defense is supposed to be about how easy it is to find good DEs. Just like Canty, Spears can walk if he wants too much money.

Jets to cut four, including Jenkins, Gholston

We don't have a lot of old players and how old do you think Peppers, Briggs and Urlacher are? All over 30.

Are the Cowboys gambling with Free?

I agree, but I think RT is our most pressing need and losing Free would make LT our most pressing need. The interior line was good enough in 2009 with Free and Adams but it all seemed to fall apart in that playoff game against Minnesota. They might not be able to play like they did in 2009 but...

Teams show interest in Titans QB Vince Young

Young will be playing in the NFC West next season and will have a good chance of making the playoffs.

Are the Cowboys gambling with Free?

Free's job is easier because teams will occupy him and allow him to do his job while destroying the rest of the line. How often did Free go against the top DLs/LBs compared to Columbo? Orakpo naturally lines up on the right side (offensive left) for the Redskins but was constantly rushing...
