Jenkins was considered to have good ball skills coming out of college, too, and he is a good CB, but has not proven to be this shutdown corner that Claiborne will not become as well.
Except for injuries, Jenkins was as good as you need back there, and Claiborne is not a ball hawk, so he will be above average to good. I hated the move when we made it, and he hasn't shown me a reason to change my mind.
He absolutely was used wrong. Garrett should have bent over backwards to get him the ball in space. Swing passes/screens/etc. Did he? Hell no. He ran him up the middle and off tackle with an occasional pitch out. He was extremely misused.
You can tell that just in reading his quotes. Half the damn time he doesn't make a fricking bit of sense. More often than not I have to read them more than once, and usually the third time I give up as it's just not worth the time.
