Does anybody have any faith at all in Garrett's ability to properly use Austin?

Bob sturm just said there is a ton of buzz at valley ranch on tavon Austin who they love and Kenny vaccaro.

I guess his people told him they love both players, said he was told they would love to have Austin on the field with Dez and miles.

If this happens I feel bad for brad, babe and kristie. They are going to have to differentiate between miles Austin and tavon Austin.

I can see the concern. Romo, Witten, Bryant and Austin are all examples of players who have been blatantly misued.

Romo/Witte/Dez/Miles aren't valid comparisons. Those are prototypical players at their position.

Tavon isn't a traditional WR. He has unique skills/abilities. You can't just line him out wide and have him run a full route tree. You have to be very creative with how you get him the ball and play designs.

I don't think it's really rocket science we just call a few bombs a game and have Orton come in to throw it.

He wasnt used wrong, his issue was he was hurt too much. That and the run blocking is/has been awful.

He absolutely was used wrong. Garrett should have bent over backwards to get him the ball in space. Swing passes/screens/etc. Did he? Hell no. He ran him up the middle and off tackle with an occasional pitch out. He was extremely misused.

Sorry, dont agree. He caught alot of swing/screen passes here, especially in 09 & 10. Even his running plays maximized his production most of the time as his YPC was extremely high, especially his first couple iof seasons.

He was hurt too much. He also was sharing time with MBIII and in the passing game, was never more than the 4th or 5th option on a team with talented skill guys. There's only one football.

So we'll pencil you down as being confident in Jason Garrett finding creative ways to get Tavon the ball.

K....

Plenty of the rest of us aren't.

You should know better than to argue with a homer. It only raises your blood pressure and the homer will never admit that the Cowboys are wrong.

Stretch smith is telling the story about not taking randy moss, broaddus has always said chan gailey made the decision.

I had to turn it off and missed the rest if the story, apparently smith was at Marshall for a long time finding everything out about moss and knew some of the coaches there, then I got cut off...

Anyone else hear this? Thoughtexpiriment?

I was only halfway listening myself... Sounds like I caught the same part you did, about him being assigned to scout Moss and staying in a WV hotel for a while, finding out about his background, etc.

I just know he said he would have taken Moss. But then as he's said before, he doesn't buy into the theory that you only take flawless character guys.

I am not a draft guru and don’t know shit about most of the players available in the draft...but i hope the Cowboys are doing the not so exciting thing and drafting big men upfront on both lines. I just watched some Austin highlights...we don’t need him. Cowboys need to run the ball and stop the run. Get back to the basics man.
