It is entirely possible to be taking shots to the head and still be able to function, both physically and mentally. It's not that hard to understand, really. How could somebody take repeated shots to the skull from a guy like George Foreman and still continue on round after round? The way...

Strangely enough, another difference would be that one person died by an accident caused by poor choices made by himself and his friend who was driving. The other was a guy that died from another person purposely shooting them.
