Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

dbair promised he'd be fired last year if we didn't make the playoffs, too. I'm starting to doubt his sources.

Goose: Cowboys loss to Eagles falls on the coaches

Yeah, I kept thinking during the game that Art Briles would basically do exactly what Kelly has done. How nice would it be to have an innovative coach who did to other teams what Kelly did to us?

Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

:facepalm Wouldn't surprise me one bit. Said at the time but I wouldn't be surprised if it was pretty much a done deal after the Seattle game.

Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

Bingo. Whatever creates maximum pain, that's what we'll get. I expect us to beat a Bears team that doesn't care and we'll get 10 days of sickening Red Jesus pump up articles.

Goose: Cowboys loss to Eagles falls on the coaches

Glad you said this because that's what I saw, too. Our guys were not physically in good enough condition. That's something you normally don't even worry about at this level, or really even in better college programs.

Goose: Cowboys loss to Eagles falls on the coaches

I have no way to prove this, of course, but from some of the quotes from the players after the game I really think they used the short week as an excuse before the game even kicked off. I have no idea why some of the defensive players in particular acted like it was impossible to prepare for...

Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

Sad thing is, they'll be even more pulled in next year when they're buying "10 win season! Improvement! Right direction! This is our year!" :facepalm

Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

Hasn't that message already been sent about a thousand times, though?

Cowlishaw: Garrett isn't going anywhere despite unpardonable sins, missed playoffs

Yeah, that makes little sense. Maybe he's talking about the angle that Jerry couldn't promote someone and keep the staff intact and sell "continuity". But I thought almost all of these coaches' contracts ended this year anyway. And we need to forget this idea that changing coaches...

NFL Week #13: Thanksgiving Games | Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) @ (Dallas Cowboys (8-3)

I dunno, so much has gone right for us this year, I wouldn't be surprised if it keeps up. Watch NE beat GB. Arizona might hit the skids without their QB. And so on.

'Jim Hardball' on the trading block?

It would be kind of cool if it happened. I wouldn't mind their getting good again. I like when the old traditional powers are in the mix.

Gotta be the Superbowl preview, right? What a great matchup in a great setting.

'Jim Hardball' on the trading block?

Oakland makes sense in that you don't have to move the family, though. Plus he can probably start off with Mariota.

NFL Week #13: Thanksgiving Games | Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) @ (Dallas Cowboys (8-3)

:towel Really, they'd be a playoff type team if they only had a QB.

:lol Was thinking the same thing when I saw that highlight. (No offense, xxx, I like Johnny, too.)

'Jim Hardball' on the trading block?

Yep. He's done an amazing job there. And I thought the league made it illegal to trade coaches for picks after the Chucky to Tampa one? Did they reverse that?

NFL Week #13: Thanksgiving Games | Philadelphia Eagles (8-3) @ (Dallas Cowboys (8-3)

Well yeah, but I don't think he'll play like that the rest of the year. He's only had one or two games like that all year.

'Jim Hardball' on the trading block?

As great as it would be, he'd never work for Jerry and Jerry would never hire him. He'll probably go to the Giants and kick our ass for the next five years.
