We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

Spotrac has Dallas at $129M for 2015. That's with about 20 players on the roster, none of who are named Dez Bryant, Anthony Spencer, Sean Lee, Tyron Smith, Bruce Carter or DeMarco Murray.

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

Looks like about $13.5M of Romo's cap hits for the next 4 years is due to restructuring from previous years. $5M+ this year, $3M+ for the following 2 years and $1M+ for the fourth.

DC Spagnola (hints Romo may call plays, influence offense) for 2013

Pretty sure anyone who watched last season when the offense was entirely inept until he started running things himself would have called it at that time. What took you so long?

BREAKING: Tony Romo deal DONE. 6 year, 108m. 55 mil guaranteed

Why is 48M his cutoff? Probably because $48 sounds really close to $50. That or maybe $40M payed to Philip Rivers would just fuck up the whole train of though. Or maybe $45M schedule to be paid to Vick. Or, if you whip off 2011 because he joined the team halfway through the season and count...

We're sacrificing the future with cap restructures

I agree. Dallas has been chasing the final piece since about 2007. TO, Roy Williams, and even Martellus Bennett. All looking for that one piece to put them over the top. Meanwhile, the other 80% of the team has declined in skill and here we are today at a position where the key players like...

Truman? What took so long? You'd think they'd strike at a time when all these internet sleuths wouldn't be around to expose their carefully orchestrated plan.

BREAKING: Tony Romo deal DONE. 6 year, 108m. 55 mil guaranteed

Again, Clements and Hall didn't "set the market". Why not?

BREAKING: Tony Romo deal DONE. 6 year, 108m. 55 mil guaranteed

The market for CBs wasn't set when Clements or Hall signed their stupid deals. The market shouldn't be set because Flacco signed his.

So....there's a shit ton on the back end? With 55M guaranteed? Wow.

Michael Huff, two others visiting today

This team has no business drafting a safety in the first round given the need on OL. I suppose they could draft one later but any pick dedicated to the secondary is a pick that should have gone to the lines. OL and DL need some help. They could have gotten a starting caliber safety on the...

Michael Huff, two others visiting today

Color me unimpressed with Will Allen. At $2M per year, it's a fucking joke that Huff wasn't signed. Allen hasn't intercepted a pass since 2005 and he's deflected like 5 passes since that time. Of course, shouldn't be too hard on a guy with 33 career starts, half of them coming in 2006. He's...

Michael Huff, two others visiting today

Dallas had like $6M in cap space a couple weeks before the season opened that year. Who knows where they were at prior to that. There wasn't a CBA prior to the first week in August so it's kind of hard to know where the team was at in terms of cap.

    Romo extension close

Well, $3M after base salary. That's a far cry from the $8M some were speculating. Furthermore, that's considering a scenario where the team effectively backloads the piss out of the contract. Lets say it was the reported 4 years, $68M with $30M guaranteed. With vet minimum, that means...

    Romo extension close

Still nothing about this aspect? Just for shits and giggles, a 30M guarantee on 4 years would mean his cap hit starts at 13M. 7.5M for the new shit, 5.3M (or abouts I believe) for the old contract. So if the old stuff carries through there is hardly any cap relief.
