Sabin: Changes making Cowboys what Garrett feared - rudderless team

I don't think it's waste by any means. I like Claiborne and can't wait to see once his play catches up with his athleticism and confidence and he's making plays like he did in Baton Rouge. My point is that Jerry justified the big trade up by saying he's a shutdown corner (always good to have)...

Sabin: Changes making Cowboys what Garrett feared - rudderless team

David, the Tampa 2 is all about staying in your zones and handing off players once they exit your zone. The need for a "shutdown" corner does not really exist in a Tampa 2. If disciplined and if quarterbacks get impatient, Claiborne has the opportunity to make plays. A bigger concern is what's...

    2012 Season Game Threads Mega-Merge

Jerry tried to outsmart everyone else and drafted a hamster. I'm not liking it's chances in the Puppy Bowl.

..and the 2009 was devastating. Franchise crippling bad.

Sabin: Changes making Cowboys what Garrett feared - rudderless team

2012 draft was not good. Moving up for Claiborne was expensive and now with the scheme we are going to, a shut down "Deion-type" (jury is still out on that one) is not as much a need. Crawford looks like maybe he'll be a rotation player at LDE. Wilber got nothing but bad reviews. Johnson is...

Sabin: Changes making Cowboys what Garrett feared - rudderless team

I'm a little nervous about this next draft with Jerry feeling the need to be "more involved." Who am I kidding? I already feel that Jerry overrides everyone anyway. It just seems now that Jason's voice will be a little more quiet.

    Jones comments on Livings, Bernadeau

How? He's a defensive end turned 3-4 outside linebacker. In the Tampa 2 a SOLB has to be quick, cover a lot of ground. Has to suit (and man) up first. "Hope" can't be our off-season plan. We need to address weaknesses with better talent and bring in actual competition.

    Jones comments on Livings, Bernadeau

fast forward to this time next year. Jerry will be telling us that Matt Johnson, Alex Albright, and other random scrubs performed to his expectations. superpunk will tell us we all need to wait and see what happens once recently hired awful assistant coach replaces scapegoat assistant coach from...

Fisher: Inside all the Cowboys' coaching moves

Incorrect. Some will state they will pay the difference and it applies to them becoming a Head Coach for another team. He could be the DC somewhere and the Bears still have to pay him. They broke the contract, not him. They have to pay it.

Interesting- Jones & Garrett meeting privately on plane

Replacing crap with crap is still crap Glory. Replacing ineffective and lazy (Ryan) with outdated and ancient (Kiffin) is not a move that inspires confidence. The ONLY REASON I semi-like the move is that I've felt we have been adding/drafting 4-3 personnel for the last few years.

Interesting- Jones & Garrett meeting privately on plane

I still can't believe there's (educated) Cowboy fans left in this world who still don't think Jerry is behind every move. It's insane. The guy tells you, shows you, and shouts it from the mountain top... unbelievable.

Fisher: Inside all the Cowboys' coaching moves

I doubt he misses out on the money owed from the Bears unless he signed the world's dumbest deal. Coaching contracts are guaranteed unless you do something stupid.

Fisher: Inside all the Cowboys' coaching moves

Offense sells seats. Look at the coaching hirings.. Kelly, Tressman, Arians, McCoy, Chudzinski, even Reid. Most were Offensive Coordinators or offensive minded guys. Lovie sitting out only hurts Lovie. It's not like he can't get a HC job next year if he was someone's DC.

Fisher: Inside all the Cowboys' coaching moves

Once the last head coaching job went he would have. Coaches say stuff like that all of the time but in the end they all want to be employed.
