    2016 NFL Week #16: Detroit Lions (9-5) @ Dallas Cowboys (12-2)

And you know they would love to hurt the Cowboys and have them hobbling into the playoffs.

I'd be pissed as hell if I was a player being claimed by a team like the 49er's and Browns at this stage of the season. What pointy would it serve? Talk about going from the penthouse to the outhouse.

Pipe dream, but I wish they would retain Leary, and move Collins to RT.

Must be a very minor sprain, because from what I heard he was ready to go back in and play. They didn't send him to the locker room, and he was standing on it. It was expected that he would sit out the Eagles' game anyway.

That was a catch. Initially I felt that if a penalty was going to be called, it should have been offensive PI or facemask on Dez, because he did have that guy's facemask. BUT... looking at it some more, the defender had Dez by the shoulder pads first.

Day After Thoughts: 13-2 after rolling the Lions

The second half was the most aggressive I've seen from this defense all year. Gruden said that the Cowboys blitz the least of all teams in the NFL, but are second in getting sacks from the blitz.

Oh I particularly love this gem from an Eagles fan:

Not sure why people think the Giants are going to mail it in against the Redskins. Granted, it's not going to change the Giants' seeding; but does anyone think really that the Giants want to go into the playoffs with a 2-game losing streak?

I can see Rex getting the Rams job. Payton going to either SD or Buffalo.

Day After Thoughts: 13-2 after rolling the Lions

I agree they should sit some players this next game. Nothing can be gained by a win or lost by a loss. I had reservations about most of the starters playing in this game, but I'm glad they did play and got the win. It's differing mindsets for these two teams: Lions and Eagles. Lions were playing...

After the first drive/possession, Zenner's carries was 6, 3, 4, 7, -1, 2, 0, 3. That's 22 yards on 8 carries for a 2.7 ypc. Yeah, I'll say that the Cowboys defense adjusted, and thereby forced the Lions to abandon the run.

I get what you mean. Thing is, if the Cowboys defense plays like it does throughout like it did the second half... I see no team beating us, as long as the offense does what it does. The Redskins are a mixed bag basically on offense. They have no running game, or a defense for that matter. They...

No. If Redskins lose, they will be 8-7-1.

On;ly if the Redskins win. If they lose, and the Lions lose, the Lions still can make it in.

It's a weak argument though. That argument would make sense for your listed scenario when it is late in the game.

    2016 NFL Week #16: Detroit Lions (9-5) @ Dallas Cowboys (12-2)

But that's not why they won. Yeah they stuck with the running game, but it's far from the reason as to why they won.

    2016 NFL Week #16: Detroit Lions (9-5) @ Dallas Cowboys (12-2)

Because the Cowboys buckled down and shut the running game down. That's why they abandoned it.

The Giants stuck with the running game with us, even when it wasn't working. Where were we getting gashed? A couple of plays is not a gashing.

I did look at the attempts. And I knew you were going to bring that up. SOMEBODY HAS TO BE LAST IN ATTEMPTS. Usually a team that is good in run defense is going to have fewer attempts. The Titans, Steelers, Patriots, and Ravens are right behind us in least amount of rushing attempts. Titans...
