    NFC Playoff Tracker...

The 2007 season was pretty great right up until the gut wrenching one and done playoff performance. That one really stung. For me as a fan, the worst case scenario would be for the Cowboys to repeat 2007 -- to have a great regular season only to lose the first game of the playoffs. Yeah, the...

Rodgers scares me. He's back to his deadly self. I hope the Cowboys don't come up against him in the playoffs.

Liked what I saw out of Vikings rookie Bridgewater

I didn't see Bridgewater, but I did see Blake Bortles and he looked very capable and sharp. Too bad for Bortles that he doesn't have much of a supporting cast. He's in a challenging situation.

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

That's a valid concern, but I think he's clearly a victim of his own miscalculations and hubris. If Goodell wanted the NFL to be America's Moral Police (a dumb move IMO), he could have done it much better. It was pretty dumb for him to set himself up as the judge, jury, and executioner...

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

So as I'm driving to work today, the NFL's new "Vice President for Social Responsibility" was being interviewed. Vice President for Social Responsibility?!?!?!?

Goodell: Should he stay or go?

I think it is weird that the NFL is now expected to be in the morality business. IMO, the NFL should police players on those things that potentially impact the integrity of the game (such as performance enhancing drugs and gambling on football), but I'd be fine if the NFL did not suspend or...

5 NFL Teams Already Out Of Contention For 2014 Season

I made an error above. All NFC East teams are playing the Cardinals this season (of course). The uncommon opponents for the Giants this year are Detroit and Atlanta.

5 NFL Teams Already Out Of Contention For 2014 Season

I agree. Jerry's timing sucks. IMO, the OL should have been upgraded years ago. But on the brighter side, maybe Frederick & Co. will pave the way for Romo's successor's success.

5 NFL Teams Already Out Of Contention For 2014 Season

It occurs to me that Jerry/Garrett are now doing what I wanted the team to do about 4-5 years ago. Back then I believed that even though both sides of the ball were suspect, it would be better to concentrate on building the offense first (esp,. a major rebuild of the OL using premium parts)...

5 NFL Teams Already Out Of Contention For 2014 Season

For what it is worth - As tough as the Cowboys' schedule is this year, it isn't all that different from any other team's in the NFC East. Each of the NFC East teams have to play Seattle, the 49ers, Indy, ... The difference is that the Cowboys have New Orleans and Chicago as compared to...

5 NFL Teams Already Out Of Contention For 2014 Season

After 3 consecutive 8-8 seasons, it is sort of stupid to predict that the Cowboys will be extremely good or extremely bad this year. If Garrett has proven nothing else, he's certainly shown that he knows how to keep a bus rolling in the middle lane.

League hoping to add more pussy rules, protect QB even more

And the silly thing is that as more protections are put into place, offensive coordinators will take advantage of the rules and will push the envelope more .... and at the end of the day, the QBs will continue to have the injuries, because the offensive coordinators will assume that more plays...
