Atlanta's new stadium makes Jerryworld look like hammered dogshit

$1,000,000,000+ stadiums erected to host a game that appears to cause physical disability and long term brain damage to many of its participants. Seems curious when you think about it. ... contemporary versions of the Colosseum of Ancient Rome, only with a much shorter shelf life.

    Murray: the $40 mil Cheerleader...

I assume the Eagles wouldn't have signed Murray knowing what they know now. But the Eagles were half-right; signing Murray away from Dallas did hurt Dallas in a major way. I don't which front office performed worse ... the Eagles or the Cowboys. The Eagles may have made more bad moves, but...

Let's really FIX the supposed "PAT problem."

Making PATs more difficult elevates the importance of kickers. Anything that makes full-time kicking specialists more important is a bad idea, IMO. One thought I've had through the years is this ... What if the rules were set up so that kickers and punters could not be full-time specialists...

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

Could be that @nfldraftscout is correct about the $$, but not the botched investigations. So far as I could tell, the judge didn't rule on whether or not Brady was involved in a conspiracy to deflate balls. Instead, the judge said the NFL's (Goodell's) process was unfair to Brady...

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

I'm not a particularly mean-spirited person, but I do enjoy seeing Goodell humiliated. Here's a link to the decision: http://static.nfl.com/static/content/public/photo/2015/09/03/0ap3000000520629.pdf?campaign=fb-nf-sf12749562-sf12749562 This seems to be a key statement in the decision: It...

Brady wins appeal. Suck it, NFL/Goodell

Goodell is the luckiest man in the world. He's an idiot, but the league has so much going for it that even he can't screw it up too much (in the short term). ... and he is paid something like 45 million a year.

    LOL@The Redskins

That's not at all crazy. I think it'd be a very good move, assuming it could happen for a price that didn't screw up the salary cap. It seems pretty clear that Griffin needs a change of scenery. A better OL, better receivers, better running game might just help him develop into a better...

Report: Tom Brady destroyed phone, suspension to be upheld

Destroyed his own phone! How preposterous is that? ... pretty unbelievable that an innocent person would do such a thing.

Can't have a fantasy football convention at a Vegas casino?

I kind of like that Romo is giving the league office some grief. Odd that the NFL retaliated with a tweet that mocked Romo ... and then took it down. Probably an intern.

Can't have a fantasy football convention at a Vegas casino?

That's a persuasive article. I'm more sympathetic with Romo's position now. The NFL could have handled this much better. (we've been saying that quite often over recent years)

Can't have a fantasy football convention at a Vegas casino?

I think you are right. Gambling has been a big part of the game for fans) for many decades. I think fantasy football has been a big part of the game's growing popularity. I think the NFL has fooled itself into thinking that they (the NFL) are driving the game's popularity and that changes...

    New Extra Point Rules

I'm not a fan of it either. Seems to me that the change adds even more error variance to the game ... That there is now a greater chance that outcomes will be influenced by something other than how good the teams actually are. Fluke special teams plays can be "exciting," but they are also...

    New Extra Point Rules

Under the new rules, will it be possible to score 2 points from the 15 yard line? Sure, a coach would have to be crazy to go for 2 points from the 15 instead of the 2 yard line, but then it is possible that a given extra point kick defense would totally fall asleep on a possible fake. A more...
