Staying is one thing but for how long? The Senate will not really be in play until 2033when Republicans have a chance to take back Texas and Ohio. It's bleak, if if a republican wins the presidency in 2028.
And it's my damn Birthday! We'll win the WH, take back the Senate and the House.

Elections to the U.S. Senate will be held on November 7, 2028, and 34 of the 100 seats are up for regular election. Special elections may be held to fill vacancies that occur in the 120th Congress.

As of July 12, 2024, there were 15 seats held by Democrats and 19 seats held by Republicans up for election in 2028.

I still think we win the WH in 2028, barring something really unforeseen. The Dem candidates are total garbage.

I also agree with Creeper in that I am not really sure Texas really turned "blue" as much as Republicans stayed home and had two disliked candidates to choose from at the top.

This is a problem in Michigan and Minnesota and it was created by Barack Obama. I have been saying for yeara that Democrats are killing themselves by supporting all this 3rd world immigration because once there are enough of them, they aren't going to vote in traditional Democratic party candidates. The Democratic party is going to suffer the same fate as the country. They just don't know it yet. And I think they don't care. Policies, laws, constitution, none of that matters anymore. Times have changed for the worst.

From your lips to Gods ears for 2028

For the first time in my life I fear for the future of our country, the dems have never been so awful with their policies and now the DSA are taking over and they win in a landslide???

Is anyone listening to the words that come out of their damn mouths???

Its all feelings with voters apparently

talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face.

If Texas has gone blue, how do the Reps ever when the presidency again?

If elections were fair and honest, I may believe that they might win again but I'm just not so certain. Any failings the next 2 years will be blamed squarely on Trump even though the left will obstruct his agenda. The country is in a bad, bad place and I haven't felt this way since 2020.

I also agree with you when you say it's all feelings. People are really, really stupid. They have an issue with affordability but forgot the inflation and housing issues went highwire under Biden just 2 short years ago. But we shouldn't be surprised. Americans have short term memory...just look at 9/11 and now we elect radical Muslims to the Presidency and Senate. I guess we as Americans just have to feel the pain but the county might be too far gone to fix it.

Maybe but I'm just no so sure. I mean, some people probably stayed home but Abbott got more votes in a loss yesterday than he got when he was reelected in his previous election. Abbott just wasn't all that great and he let the state get flooded with illegals and Muslims but I would have still voted for him. Republicans just suck....

Maybe we win the WH in 2028 but I wouldn't bet on it. Trump is resilient but I'm not so sure his endorsement will carry any real clout anymore but he has 2 years to turn it around with only his executive powers. Vance will not energize the base and Rubio won't jump Vance. DeSantis came out of hiding for a press conference all but indicating he's running in 2028. But will the MAGA base support him and will they turn out to vote?

Look at where those senate seats are located. They're not flipping or at least not nearly enough to gain the majority. I already looked this morning. Had we kept some Senate seats (even if we lost Texas), there was some possibility. At best, we take the WH but, at worst, we lose the WH and the Dems have the House and Senate. Republican traitors, both citizens who voted and politicians who did jack shit when they owned all 3 branches, did the country in.

What's sad is his agenda kinda got stuck in the mud for two years not because of the left, but because of his own corrupt fucked up party.

Thune and Johnson really should own this. Johnson at least deserves some kudos for knowing that and already admitted he was not going to pursue the leadership role. Thune being the cocksucker that he is says he WILL seek the role again. Any Republican that supports this walking turd should be primaried and defeated, and that's the fate Thune will face himself in 2028. He's going to get the Cheney treatment for certain.

I didn't know that. Obviously that debunks the poor turnout theme.

That said, I'm still curious about mail in balloting everywhere.

I guess we also have to take into account all the people that moved to Texas from places like CA and elsewhere trying to "escape" the leftist hellholes they previously lived. This may explain the increased numbers. But did those people then vote Dem again even after moving to Texas?

At the end of the day, this is on Republican voters who chose to "send a message" by voting for liberal socialists, commies and Muslims. I hate Republican politicians but I know better than to vote Dem. But the places Trump won big just truned for the Dems.

Also keep in mind we saw the same thing in the recent Jersey gubernatorial election where the loser got a ton more votes than the previous winner and that made little sense since people were fleeing the state. So I'm not sure how to really read any of this any more.

They're gonna come hard after Elon.

I hope he doubles down on his support for everyone against their party.

The One World Government thing is real, and there's a reason they want it.
They will get their one world government for a short 7 year period. That is a 100% certainty and why I am not surprised about the election outcome when we see everything else going on in the world. Then the final government will be set up that will last for an eternity with the Lord of Lords and King of Kings running the show.

Luke 1:32-33 KJV
32 He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David:

33 And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.

Texas Rep. Brian Harrison

I call on Gov. Abbott to IMMEDIATELY convene a special session to REIN IN EXECUTIVE EMERGENCY POWERS… before Gina Hinojosa is sworn in!

Republicans lost last night, but Democrats were not sworn in.

We still have total power in Texas, and we must act like it by using the remaining ten weeks to restore separation of powers and limit the emergency powers that Governor-Elect Hinojosa is set to inherit, which would allow her to destroy liberty in Texas by executive fiat.

I’ve warned since I was first elected that NO governor, Republican or Democrat, should have unchecked emergency powers!

Now that Texas has elected a Democrat Governor, the urgency is undeniable… and inaction is intolerable.

Without action, Governor Hinojosa will inherit the powers of a DICTATOR.

Due to the absurd (and almost certainly unconstitutional) Texas emergency powers laws, Gov. Hinojosa will literally have the power to modify laws, ignore laws, or create and enforce laws – including criminal laws – on a whim!

Today is a day for ACTION, and bold leadership.

The Texas Legislature must immediately pass, and Governor Abbott must sign, legislation like HB911, which I filed in 2022 and warned at the time, that “Never ending emergency powers are antithetical to representative government and render people powerless. Legislative bodies allowing a single executive branch official to both write and enforce laws is the biggest threat to our constitutional system of divided government and should be opposed irrespective of which political party runs the executive branch.”

My legislation would protect liberty from executive fiat by, among other things, taking the following actions:

1. Prohibit the Governor from suspending or modifying statutes

2. Sunset emergency orders in 30 days if the legislature does not ratify the order

3. Prohibit the governor from reissuing emergency orders that expired or the legislature rejected

4. Require emergency orders to be narrowly tailored

5. Subject emergency orders to expedited judicial review

We have TEN WEEKS LEFT to protect Texas from near total Democrat rule.

I encourage every elected Republican in Texas to join my demand for Gov. Abbott to call a special session.

The future of liberty in America is literally on the line in Texas, and Texans deserve leadership that acts accordingly.

I hadn't even thought about this and just focused on the SCOTUS, but the next President, even if he's Republican, will basically be a lame duck who won't be able to get his nominees passed for key positions such as DoJ AG, Defense Secretary, Secretary of State, judicial nominees, etc. Huge.
