The Marino one surprises me a bit because he was a shell of himself by the time Jimmy got there.

He says Troy is the greatest player he ever coached. But hey, what does Jimmy know? These fantasy football nerds who love stats say Aikman was mediocre.

As someone noted in the comments, they only wore them for two games before modifying the numbers to be able to see them better. Still preferable to our current road jerseys.

Remember when Jerry Jones decided to fuck the silver and blue helmets scheme and choose to go with a white gay helmet scheme that resembles a bad Dr. Seuss nightmare? And those ghastly helmets are still used twice every season.

40 years ago today. MNF opener vs the Gnats. Herschel's debut. Bigger numbers on the jerseys. The Gnats would only lose one more game that season on their way to winning their first Superbowl, while we would go on to have our first losing season since 1964. So a classic case of winning the battle but losing the war......

This is what would drive me crazy about the other place to the point you could no longer engage stupid people in a discussion. In people's zeal to defend Jerry or Dak or Romo, they would have to knock down Jimmy and Troy and Irvin. I was convinced people had these idiotic opinions without having seen these men play or coach. The game was so different that many of today's players would never have the gaudy numbers if they had to play in that era.
